Chapter Twenty-Seven

Menma came back from his first mission. It just so happens to be the bell test. Naruto specifically requested it. He sighed. "Menma big brother! Can we play now?" Satsuki ran up to her older brother.

He smiled. "Not now Satsuki." She frowned. He sighed. "Tomorrow. Okay? But you're gonna have to remind me."

Menma tapped her sister's forehead, just like how his mother does it. "I hate when you do that." She had a sulking face.

Menma smiled. "But it's fine when mom does it?" "Well it's Mommy. Of course it is."

Just then, Naruto walked in the door. "I'm home!" "Daddy!" "Hey, Satsuki." She ran and jumped on him. "Easy. Daddy's a bit sore. How was your first mission?" Naruto asked Menma as he hugged Satsuki.

"It was kinda tough. Konohamaru Sensei called it the bell test. There were two bells, but three of us. He said only one of us was going back to the academy."

"What happened at the end?" "Well, we didn't make it in time, but we still passed because Mitsuki offered me one of the bells. Basically the whole point of the test was to show teamwork."

"Mitsuki? Isn't he one of Orochimaru's?" "Yeah. Apparently that's his dad, or something like that?"

"Dad? Who wants a kid with that bastard?" "Mommy you can say that word!" "Sorry honey."

"What does Mom have against him?" "Well, mom has a bad history with that bastard." "Daddy!" "I know I know."

Naruto put one yen in a jar. "Why did I come up with the damn swear jar?" "Dad!" "Damnit!" "Daddy!" "Shit..." "Dad. Just stop talking." "Good idea."

"Okay guys. Dinners ready." They raced to the kitchen, Naruto obviously winning. "No fair! Daddy has more running experience."

"If that's what you wanna call it." They all sat down. "Vegetables..." "How many times are we gonna go over this?"

"Yay! Vegetables!" Satsuki ate her vegetables first. "At least someone likes my vegetables."

Sasuke left the kitchen. "Suck up." Naruto and Menma said at the same time. "Don't make me come in there!" "Y-yes ma'am."

"Do we have to eat them this time?" "Yes. That's what I made them for." "But they're nasty." "Are you calling my food gross, Uzumaki?"

"Ooh. Dad doesn't like moms food." Naruto waved his arms in defence. "That's not what I meant." Sasuke flashed her Rinnegan.

"You're lucky you're my wife." "Did you just threaten me?" "N-no!" Sasuke hit Naruto on the head.

"Owe! Fine I'll eat them!" "That's what I thought." Sasuke turned and smacked Naruto with her hair.

Naruto rested his head on his fist. "Stupid vegetables." "I think daddy's still secretly a kid." "Yeah, me too." Menma agreed.

Naruto ate his vegetables. "Yack! Stupid green things. I'm going to bed." Naruto tried to walk in his room.

"Ah. Nope. You're sleeping out here." "What? Why?" "You called my food gross." "I said the vegetables were gross." "I made those vegetables. And I was gonna give you another meal." Sasuke put her hand on her hip and cleaned to the side.

"I can't have the main course?" "Nope." Sasuke pushed him out the door frame. "Goodnight." She closed the door.

"Me and my big fat stupid mouth. Stupid, stupid idiot." Naruto kicked his shoes off, sat on the couch and turned on the TV.

"Next time I'll just keep my mouth shut." Naruto sighed.
