2831 BGA, The Dark Ages

JAMIE WIPED THE BLOOD from her mouth, courtesy of the raw heart she was to feast upon at the Tarqhan Haiebrus' insistence. The Qhans had a long line of savage history, along with savage traditions that have continued to be practiced until now. Eating a raw heart as a sign of power was only one of them. The Warrior Queen fixed her stare upon Haiebrus, who had only smiled back menacingly.

     "We have an accord, yes?"

Haiebrus' eyes gleamed with a vile delight, chewing on roasted goose meat before taking a sip from his wine. "Of course, your majesty. The Qhans honor a Queen who respects the traditions of her allies. It is a very noble quality." Jamie only narrowed her eyes at him in response. "Now, if you could do us the honor of being hospitable, and provide you with quarters during your stay in Qhanerquis. It would be my utmost pleasure."

Jamie's gaze averted to Vraios, who nodded ever so slightly. "I accept your hospitality." The queen replied. "You have been much kind. It shall be remembered."

The Tarqhan only grunted in response before calling Lennox over. "Friend, see to it that our guests settle into their quarters in the east wing. Make them feel at home." Lennox, who had offered Jamie the raw heart earlier, shot them a smile before waving them over as a gesture that they follow. Having no other choice, the four trailed behind the Qhan.

"It has been a while since we've had guests over." Lennox started, weaving them through the corridors. "Please make yourself at home, your majesty."

"The walls are made of sandstone." Jamie noticed, eye tracing the walls and ceiling.

"Yes, your majesty. Sandstone is abundant in these parts of the Outer Lands of Narnia." Explained Lennox. It wasn't long before they reached the east wing, which looked like all the other sections of the palace. Jamie glanced at Yoringal, who seemed to be taking note of the internal structure of the castle. The boy was her trusted strategist, which meant that he was tracing their steps and noting down the possible weak points of their kingdom in case anything happened to their alliance.

"Thank you, Lennox." Jamie bid him farewell when he had brought them to their rooms.

"Ring, and we'll answer, your majesty. If you need anything." Was all the Qhan said before walking off, leaving the four to their respective rooms to rest. Jamie scanned the four corners of the room she was given, large enough for at least thirty men. Windows that spanned from floor to ceiling graced the far north wall, overlooking the ocean. The bed was sized for a queen, sheets of a smooth fabric native to Qhanerquis. Even if the land was a desolate expanse, it contained some of the finest and richest resources that supplied the fellow kingdoms in Narnia.
