     Present Day, Narnia

THE SEA SERPENT plunged into the depths of the sea, leaving Eustace limp on the rock.  Lord Rhoop saw this as an opportunity to cut in, pushing Lucy aside to bellow. "Out creature!" He threw the sword, the blade hurling towards Eustace and impaling him. He roared from the pain, feeling it pierce his hide.

     "No, the sword!"

"Eustace!" Lucy shouted, but Eustace only took to the air, and flapped his wings away. "No, come back!" Edmund stood wide eyes as he watched his cousin fly. That left them with no dragons, as Verzimir had still been on Dark Island. And with Eustace being injured badly, it seemed that they would have to kill the sea serpent he conjured up from his mind by themselves.

"We're all doomed!" Lord Rhoop cried out. "Doomed! Turn this ship about."

     "Stop him!"

Zhev immediately leapt to halt the Lord from getting to the wheel, but Rhoop was stronger than he looked, and had managed a hand on the wheel. Through his struggle, he was able to pull on it, causing the ship to rock violently. Zhev pulled him away, while Drinian resumed his position as Captain of the ship. "Now, crew. To your rowing positions!" He ordered. "Oars at double speed!"

When Edmund returned his attention to the sea, the serpent shot out of the water, angrier than ever. Its screeches got muffled when it once again dove back in, and for a moment, it was gone. Edmund stared down at the calm waters, looking for any sign of the evil creature. Then, it emerged, jumping onto the ship shrieking. Edmund stumbled backwards, taken aback, as did the rest of the crew. It wrapped its body around the ship, in an attempt to tear it in half and wreak havoc upon the deck. Panicking, Edmund ran, the fear catching up to him.

The serpent's coil tightened, putting pressure on the wood making it crack and splinter open. When it resurfaced once more, it stared down at the tiny humans that ran about, hissing and wrothful.

Edmund had nowhere to run, as the serpent's body trapped his escape. "Ed! Ed!" Caspian shouted over the noise, catching his attention. "We'll ram the serpent. Smash him on the rocks." It was possible, a better idea than Edmund could come up with at the moment.

"Steer her to port! I'll keep it on the prow!" Edmund replied, wasting no time in heading towards the ship's prow. Dodging the serpent's jaws trying to catch them as its food, he pushed onwards, feet rushing and hands gripping the railing upon the stairs. Edmund climbed up to the prow, emerging at the mouth in front of the serpent. Hastily, he pulled out his torch, and shone its light on the serpent to catch its attention. It definitely worked, growling as it searched for the source of the light and came face to face with Edmund. "Try and kill me! Come on! Come on, I'm here!"
