the next following days, I'm falling to my knees—feeling weak
recollecting the previous happenings of how I was left astray
healing isn't constant, a reminder for one to see the light of day
pursuing the intention of leaving everything behind me now
so I don't guess the answers to questions that begin with 'how'
I'll take the midnight cab to go to a location unknown to many
if I journey, would you hold me back before the clock turns twenty?
as a new chapter progresses to unlock a barricaded door,
unravels to them is the secrecy of illicitly meeting you once more
it might be a mistake, but sneaking out to run away will never be
yet, I find myself hypothesizing if your existence is the only remedy
without noticing, you buried my occurrences till it won't matter
you've incinerated your remorse, leaving the ashes to scatter
rephrasing my messages so you won't consider telling white lies
if you pick me up, I'm right by where we used to watch the sunrise
endured the times I'm condescended by you and your sentiments
statements with prejudice when you chatter about what I own
and when it's about yours, you're free to use it without judgment
giving me a reason to abscond with my bags for days to be alone
a Midas touch to our conflict, an ability I'll never possess
turning them to go against me—I'm a marionette to oppress
when the truth gently reveals itself, you won't be able to deny
eventually, I won't be the former lover who has tears to defy
an approximate time has passed for us to cease conversing
on this trip I embark, I'll wait for someone who's more deserving
yet, beneath the depths of the little things, I'm reminded of you
I'm longing for you and the person I used to be before I found you
even if an attempt to reconcile fails to revive a love of a century,
I should fathom yearning for it is what makes it a good memory
