Grandfather tells you there's nothing wrong with us being together
as you ignore judgment in his eyes, falling for a trap of an oppressor
I kept on languishing in the same old relationship with an old flame
I don't stand a ghost of a chance if I outplay you in your own game
letting the weight from my shoulders fall into my right hand
owning my narrative, as I stay right in the spot where I stand
after a scrimmage, the family is hailing for their one and only
zoning off by the window, waiting for the day I'm no more lonely
devoured all of my assets, and now you're on top of the world
sucked by a whirlpool are all of our aspirations for our future
since you were never willing to take the fall, a heart had hurled
even with the best of intentions, your words have gone in a blur
perhaps, you're not the same person I met a few months ago
often missing the point, a voice of mine is easy for you to let go
seemingly, the people we meet aren't who they seemed to be
you could've done things the opposite; if only you stood by me
relighting a candle where a room is full of lamps and vivid lights
picturing a scenario of you holding one's arms for a few nights
even if it's without you, traveling into the city is already sublime
as these sinful senses come back alive, it's still not yet time
a wrist full of scars from back and forth in heaven and hell
to the end of time, I adore you, as you kept me under your spell
written on the constellations on how good you tear me down
despite the truths unveiled, I still long for the day you're around
