"You could've at least say something that you were coming mum." I said as my older sister grab her bags on the couch.
When I got home, I noticed two new SUV hanging out in our driveway and from then on I know it's mum's. She got a weird thing loving SUV.
"Nina what are those for?" I asked.
She seemed hesitant at first, looking between mum and I, "You're going back to the States, Heather."
I noticed all the bags she was holding were mine. I ran to my room and I found white sheets and white walls. All my stuff were gone. The stickers, the bears, the pictures and the books.
"I thought we had a deal mum." I said in anger, "You didn't even called us for months and yet you come here and asking for my presence."
My mum despite her age was stunning, she was dressed in her fancy state. White heels, white coat, white dress. I'm not very sure if she's here for a session though- she looks like a doctor.
"Heather Grace." she started, "I know you like it here, but your presence is highly needed in the states."
I snorted, "You make it sound like I'm very important."
Nina laughed, "Yeah mum. What is there? I know for a fact that there is really a reason why."
"Just tell me mum." I said.
Dianne made her way to me, "Daughter, my sweet daughter. Have you ever heard of the gala event you were supposed to go?"
I instantly perked up, "Yeah?"
She smiled, "Well we want you to go. The heat disappeared already."
I sigh, "Mum. I know there is a certain reason why you came and it isn't the gala." I stare at her, "I never seen you dressed like a doctor before. All..white." she stirred, "What happened?"
Dianne took a long sigh and went to our couch, "Your grandfather- Dad, was having this entire society as one earlier so we dressed all white."
I stomped. "Mum."
"Okay okay. Geez. " she said laughing.
I glared at Nina who was also laughing.
"I'm celebrating!" Mum said excitedly.
I raise my brow, "For what exactly mum?"
She clapped her hands like a five year old who just got her candy in the candy store, "Your grandfather has some surprise to you."
I point myself, "Why me? Why not Nina?"
"I don't do business Heather." Nina answered.
"He noticed your hardwork and your designs in the company." mum said.
"What?! You salvaged my room?!" I yelled. There was these drawings of unidentified creatures on it.
Okay mainly, lingeries and sexy gowns.
"Granpa liked all of those?" Nina scrunched her nose at me.
"For the love of God not those!" Mum shouted. "Your dresses were worn in the gala in Greece honey, everyone love those designs." she squealed like a little girl, "And those coats you drew out of your boredness were taken out and been a cover in a few magazine in the world." she gasped.
"And your grandpa is interested on art. He says, he gave you that talent." mum finishes.
Grandpa loves art, he loves drawing and planning- he's a highly respected engineer in America and one of the richest says forbes and times.
And my mom loves fashion. She can't shut up about it.
"Especially those teenage life you drew with all those hippy style-"
And then I realized.
"Wait, I drew those two years ago when we got a project about greek gods and godesses." I muttered, "Mum! You clearly salvaged my closet!"
She nodded and I raise my brows then she shook her head.
"No! Heather I was cleaning your room that night and I saw them lying in your floor." she said. "And you know what else I saw? Dozen of papers and books."
I furrowed my brows. I clearly know she's lying, first she is too busy to care about cleaning that is why I live far from her building and we have our own separate maids, second we don't have the same house, third all she do is business and fourth, clearly she was lying.
"You know she live far from you, right mum?" Nina asked.
Mum turned to her all red, "What? No I don't. I just, you know- got there and studied your room-"
"Clearly rummaging through my stuff." I added.
"And just you know, I just- well what the hell. Yeah I did." she confessed at last.
I held my bags in both of my hands and I'm ready to tale a leap. Afterall I knew everything will last, all those months studying here will just vanished.
But it wasn't easy as I thought.
"Come on Heather, you could be huge." Nina encourages me.
I look at mum, "What am I supposed to tell my friends?"
She looked at me, "I'll be expecting you to arrive in New York for two weeks Heather after your school end."
"Thank you mum."
Mum decided to stay in the hotel since she has a business to attend to, Nina and I bid her goodbyes and kisses as she goes away.
"I told you not to make many friends before you know." Nina said as we stand in the rooftop.
"I know." I nodded warily.
"Yet you still didn't listen." she added.
I stayed silent.
"You could've told mum about what happened in your school."
I shook my head.
"Take time upon yourself." she says, "You know I haven't seen you down like this when we were in the states before. And in a span of ten months you made a fool of yourself."
"It was a normal thing to do." I replied.
She shook her head, "No it wasn't Heather. The normal thing to do was to stand up against them. You know your worth Heather and they can't buy you, just remember that you were born in one of the highest class families in the world. A lot would kill just to be your friends."
"I have friends who stood up for me." I muttered.
Nina looked at me, "Good, but just know that some of them knew you because of who you are."
I furrowed my brow.
"You know Richard, right? Well he transferred here and stood up for me." I snap at her.
"And he broke you remember?" she snapped back.
I silenced myself.
"That's what I thought." Nina nodded and walked away leaving me in the deserted rooftop.
