It was a Sunday, and James and Catherine were at home. James asked Catherine if she needed any help, but she declined, focused entirely on her office work.

Her attention was fixed on the laptop, and she frequently reached for biscuits. Her concentration was impressive, and James found himself mesmerized by her beauty. He stared at her for a long time, but she didn't even glance at him.

"Cat, if you need any help, just let me know," he offered.

It was unusual for him to say this, and it was equally new for her to have him around. But Catherine was oblivious to this, engrossed in her work, seemingly forgetting his presence altogether.

**In the Evening**

"Cat, aren’t you ready?" he asked, needing to leave before the party started.

Catherine came downstairs in a stunning red dress, walking with the grace of a model.

James was stunned at the sight before him—he could hardly believe this was his wife. Catherine shook him from his daze, her beauty taking his breath away.

"Are you driving, or should I take my car?" she asked sharply.

Gone was the nice, understanding wife she once was. Now, she was bold, demanding the respect she deserved.

"We can go together," he said, opening the driver's door. She locked the mansion's door, opened the passenger door, and sat beside him.

During the drive, James tried to make conversation, but Catherine responded with only a word or two.

**At the Party**

They arrived at the party before the other guests.

"Happy birthday, Mom," James said, embracing his mother. She beamed with happiness at seeing her son.

"Happy birthday," Catherine echoed, hugging her mother-in-law warmly.

"How are you, Cat?" his mother asked.

"I'm fine," Catherine replied, holding her hand.

Susan, James's sister, approached them. She wasn’t particularly pleased with her brother; she sensed something off about his recent behavior, but she kept her suspicions to herself.

"It's time," James's father announced as the guests started arriving.

The party was lively, and Catherine mingled with the guests. James joined her, feeling inexplicably drawn to his wife. Her new look captivated him, and they walked together like the ideal couple, attracting the attention of everyone at the party—the successful businessman and his stunning wife.

But then, a guest arrived uninvited: Elena.

Her first sight of Catherine and James together was far from pleasant. Jealousy clouded her face as she watched James laugh and touch Catherine as they moved around the room. Elena knew James could return to her at any moment, but she felt a sense of urgency to act quickly.

Finally, James noticed Elena. His initial expression was one of fear, quickly turning to anger. He walked toward her, his face neutral but his voice laced with irritation.

"Elena, I told you not to come here. Why are you here?"

"I need to talk to you," she insisted.

"Whatever it is, it can wait," he said quietly, though his disdain was evident.

"But James," Elena began, trying to keep him close. She knew that if anyone found out about them here, it would benefit her.

"Are you here to cause trouble?" his tone grew sharper.
