Yun Lixin and Xiu Qiangshu went to various stalls to play all the games that the stalls had.

Soon, the sun had set as the demons and the spirits lit the lanterns that hung from their stalls. Yun Lixin leads Xiu Qiangshu somewhere.

It was an open field near the lake. Demons and spirits had floating paper lanterns in their hands as they started lighting up the candle in the lantern.

As they entered, some random demon handed Yun Lixin and Xiu Qiangshu the lanterns.

"It's not like it's a spring festival, so why do we have floating lanterns?" Xiu Qiangshu asked curiously.

"Even though it's not the spring festival, demons often do it for fun. Today, they are doing this to wish for the demon king's longevity. But you can make any wish, Shizun." Yun Lixin replied, lighting the candles for himself and Xiu Qiangshu.

"Okay." Xiu Qiangshu smiled.

Xiu Qiangshu and Yun Lixin both wrote their wishes on the lanterns. XIu Qiangshu obviously didn't want Yun Lixin to see his wishes, so he wrote them really small while hiding the lantern from Yun Lixin. He felt like he was in school when he used to hide his answer during an exam so that his classmates wouldn't copy him.

Once they were done, Everyone started counting until three before they let their lanterns float in the sky.

XIu Qiangshu attempted to see Yun Lixin's wish, but he couldn't as his lantern mixed with the others.

"Shizun, what did you wish for?" Yun Lixin asked.

Xiu Qiangshu gave a mischievous smile. "It's a secret. What did you wish for?"

"It's a secret." Yun Lixin gave a teasing grin. Xiu Qiangshu chuckled and shook his head. He stared at the beautiful sky, which was filled with floating paper lanterns. It had been a really long time since Xiu Qiangshu had seen paper lanterns floating in the sky. He had always wished to see it with his partner, if he had any. But he was here, with Yun Lixin.

Xiu Qiangshu sneakily glimpsed Yun Lixin. His eyes sparkled as he gazed at the sky. A small smile on his lips as he watched the lanterns with his Shizun.

Xiu Qiangshu gazed back at the floating lanterns. Everyone's wishes were mostly about wishing for the demon king's longevity. Their handwriting was very messy; only some had good handwriting, like the spirits.

Some wished for something in life.

Some wished for their sins to be forgiven.

Some wished for them to be reincarnated into humans with a good life.

Others wished to visit the human realm someday.

That last wish, "Visiting the human realm someday," made Xiu Qiangshu a little sad. He had never thought that demons would want to go into the human realm. After all, the demon realm seemed a little boring compared to the human realm. For the demons, the mortal realm seemed like heaven—a gorgeous place to them. It made sense that they would want to visit the human realm.

Xiu Qiangshu also noticed a specific lantern among the other lanterns; it was Hong's lantern and the little demon boy from earlier's lantern as well.

"I want to be a cultivator someday, like my dad, and kind, like the kind spirit." The boy had scribbled. He wondered if his dad had taught him how to write since demons don't attend school here.

Xiu Qiangshu smiled as he watched the little boy's wish reach the sky, above everyone else. He hoped that the little boy's wish would come true. He wished that he would be the one to make it true.
