Chapter 33: Shizun, welcome to the demon realm.

Xiu Qiangshu ordered the guards to look for any suspicious person around the sect. He went back to the place where the guests resided. Only a few Immortal Lords and sect leaders remained. Perhaps they went back to their denominations to protect it.

The immortal lords and the sect leaders stopped conversing once they saw Xiu Qiangshu and Yun Lixin.

Shi Liang asked Xiu Qiangshu, "Did we lose the Great Immortal Dragon Pearl?"

Xiu Qiangshu nodded and said, "It must be the puppet master. I have caught a fake scholar who was attempting to run away. You should question him."

Shi Liang nodded. "Alright."

"The puppet master controlled everyone and stole the Great Immortal Dragon Pearl." Xiu Qiangshu announced, his voice loud and clear. The Immortal lords and the sect leaders gasped in fear.

Xiu Qiangshu continued, "It had purposely distracted you all by framing us. If you still need proof, you should've noticed a strange red symbol on your wrist fading away after you gained consciousness. The snowdrop sect and the Xiu sect were the victims of the Puppet Master."

The Immortal Lords glanced at their wrists. They remembered how they had seen a red symbol on their wrists fading away, which proved that Xiu QIangshu was correct about the puppet master. It also proved that Xiu QIangshu and Yun Lixin didn't have a hand in using black magic.

"It must be the demon king, Peak Lord Xiu Qiangshu or Peak Lord Shi Liang, who should go to the demon realm and find out since your sect has two Peak Lords, but for us, we only have one. We cannot risk our sects being annihilated by that demon. We'll stay in our sects and protect our people and our sects and help you along the side." Immortal Rong replied.

"I don't think it's the demon king. I believe that someone else is the puppet master." Xiu Qiangshu stated.

"Why the demon realm?" Yun Lixin asked, not seeing how the Puppet Master correlated to the Demon King.

"How can you be so sure that the puppet master isn't the demon king? After the demon king had been throned, all this misfortune has befallen us. If not the demon king, then who?" Immortal Rong questioned. Everyone agreed with Immortal Rong's statements.

Yun Lixin pursed his lips.

"It is someone within us who has every knowledge about the sects and are close to. Someone who has an easy entrance in and out for they are not unfamiliar with this place." Xiu Qianghu replied, but the Immortal lords and the sect leaders disagreed.

"The demon King can disguise himself and has a variety of powers. If it were someone between us using black magic, we would know easily. You must go to the demon realm and find out who the puppet master is." Sect leader Cao responded.

"I agree, Shizu–Peak Lord Xiu Qiangshu. We should go to the demon realm and spy on the demon king. It's not an easy task, but if we all go together, we should be able to find out." Shi Liang answered.

"No! You need to stay here and protect the sect. Yun Lixin, Shuchang, Qianfan, and I will find out." Xiu Qiangshu immediately said.

If Shi Liang had gone to the demon realm, he might discover that Yun Lixin was a demon. Whereas Shuchang and Qianfan? He could handle them later.

Xiu Qiangshu knew that the Puppet Master surely couldn't be the Demon King, but to find out, he decided to go to the Demon Realm.

Shi Liang wanted to insist. But he decided to give up. "Fine." He said. He glanced at Yun Lixin with strange eyes–as if he knew who Yun Lixin was.

"Please leave by tonight, as this matter is serious." Shi Liang smiled slightly and bowed before turning around and leaving.

The Immortal Lords and the sect leaders immediately started dispersing back to their sects.

Xiu Qiangshu and Yun Lixin were about to leave, too, when Shi Lian stopped him. She cupped her hands together and bowed. Alongside stood Gu Xiang.

"Xiu-ge. I would like to help you to find out who the Puppet Master is. I believe there should be a weakness in the Puppet Master's Black Magic that would guide itself to its Master. My sect is known to be ancient. Our sect has stood for many years before any sects have been built. I could research ancient magic in my old library; it should also consist of black magic. It will help you in finding out the Puppet Master." Gu Xiang informed Xiu Qiangshu.

"Sure. I'll take any help. Thank you." Xiu Qiangshu smiled.

Gu Xiang smiled sweetly.

"Lord Gu Xiang, May I accompany you. It must be hard for you to find everything out by yourself. I want to help you." Shi Lian replied with determination.

Gu Xiang hesitated.

"Shi Lian will not disappoint you." Xiu Qiangshu said.

Gu Xiang thought for a moment. She had seen Shi Lian's excellent skills when hunting the demons. Furthermore, Shi Lian is intelligent and has more points than the other disciples. Therefore Gu Xiang decided that she could trust this Shi Lian.

"Sure!" Gu Xiang smiled.

"Thank you for this opportunity! I won't disappoint you!" Shi Liang said enthusiastically. She cupped her hands together and bowed to her waist, showing immense respect and gratitude.

Gu Xiang pulled her up," You don't have to. Now, Let's go." She smiled elegantly.

Gu Xiang was already beautiful, but when she smiled, every person could fall for her, regardless of gender. Gu Xiang's beauty dazed Shi Lian.

Observing Shi Lian, Xiu Qiangshu realized that the love interest never loved the hero, Yun Lixin, but instead fell for Gu Xiang. Gu Xiang liked her back too!?

Gu Xiang and Shi Lian stared at each other lovingly.
