Chapter 23

Crimson moon sect. 

The Crimson Moon sect resided above a waterfall on a mountain. It was known as the moon sect since it was always night, the big moon was close to them, a person would definitely think they would be able to touch the moon though it isn't possible unless you're a great immortal cultivator. 

Rumours said that the sect resided far away because they didn't want people to interfere with them, but the main reason was the moon. When the moon turned red during the eclipse, They say that it opens the gates and releases evil spirits, the cultivators would warn the villagers to lock themselves in their homes until they finish sending the spirits back where they came from. That's why only few people resided in the village.

Many centuries, when villagers from other sects arrived to find a good place to stay, they discovered the Crimson Moon sect which they admired for its beauty and decided to live in it. But little did they know that this beauty also had darkness in it.  The day the eclipse arrived, the villagers were surprised to see the Red moon. But they didn't know that it was a threat to their lives. 

Some of the villagers escaped and seeked help from other sects. The other sects did arrive, but they were late. All of the villagers were found dead except for the children. The children were alive, yet possessed. After many days they finally could remove the evil spirits from children, yet they were soon possessed after a few months, the cultivators didn't know the reason as to why, how and where the evil spirits came from.

When they found out that the reason was the Red moon,they restrained the children using incantation and a powerful talisman until the next red moon to do an exorcism on them. And it did work. But no one ever stayed there ever again, the children didn't live a long life since the evil spirit sucked their life force. Those villagers who escaped never came back. 

A great cultivator decided to reside in that place so he could protect the people and the event kept happening to those who went there so he decided to reside there and that's how the villagers gained the courage to come back to the village and even new people from other sects came to live in the village.

And this is how the sect was formed.

"We are saved! Thanks to the young man over there! What's your good name, young man?" Villagers crowded around Yun lixin. One of the villagers happily asked Yun lixin. 

Xiu Qiangshu felt a bit hurt that the villagers didn't notice his hard work. All night he had fought the spirits, sending them back to their world. But none have seen him do that except for Yun Lixin. But of course they won't notice since they locked themselves away and also he pretended to be sick and sleep when in reality he was protecting them. Lucky Yun lixin who was taking all his credit. 

"Yun lixin." He said, smiling. 

"Lord Yun lixin! Thank you for saving us! Which sect are you from?" 

Yun lixin was stunned when the villager addressed him as a "Lord", He shyly scratched his head glancing at Xiu Qiangshu awkwardly. 

"I'm from Ataraxia of the heavenly dragon sect." Yun lixin replied proudly. 

"That's great! I heard that Peak Lord Zue is ill and has retired and made Lord Xiu Qiangshu as the Peak lord and he chose Shi liang as his second lord? He should have chosen you instead!" The villager responded, clearly not knowing how Xiu Qiangshu looked like. 

Xiu Qiangshu gave a nervous glance at Yun lixin whose smile had faltered slowly.

"..Shi Liang was made the second Lord..?" Yun lixin asked, with a serious face which made the villager a bit nervous. He knew he had said something he shouldn't have said.
