Annabeth woke up the next morning thinking about Percy. She had barely even known him for a week, but why was she so comfortable around him?
Piper and Hazel were already awake, and she turned to them. "Are you guys ready for today?"
"We'll see," Hazel said grimly. "Luke's crew is supposed to be very highly trained."
Piper looked at her. "Well, we're better than them. And we'll outnumber them with Magnus's crew."
Annabeth nodded. "That's true, I but I'm mostly worried about Percy."
And it was true. Last night Annabeth's dreams had consisted of Percy fighting Luke in a battle that never seemed to end. She knew that the last time they fought they destroyed part of a town. The dream did end, eventually. But not the way Annabeth wanted it to. It ended with Luke stabbing Percy, and the captain's eyes filled with fear as he fell to the ground.
Annabeth shuddered, and it didn't go unnoticed. Piper and Hazel walked over to her. "Hey, he'll be fine. He's the strongest swordsman I know," Piper comforted.
"Yeah," Hazel said, "And if it does get bad, he'll have us to help him get through it." Hazel peered closely at her. "Some of your makeup is smeared. We're going to have to touch you up."
Annabeth nodded dully as Piper led her to a chair and pulled out her darker foundation to cover any blemishes from the night.
"So, what did happen between you and Percy last night?" Piper asked innocently. "I noticed that you were in the crow's nest with him."
Annabeth scowled at her friend, but her cheeks were red from the thought of her and Percy's almost kiss.
"Nothing happened. He said that he just wanted me to feel more comfortable around him, so we had a little picnic thing with blue food."
Piper raised her eyebrows and exchanged a look with Hazel. "He actually shared his blue food with you?"
"He never does that," Hazel added, "We only know about it from the time when Nico dared Leo to go in his cabin and look around."
Annabeth blushed again. "Well he was just being nice, okay?"
Piper nodded. "If that's what you say, Annabeth," but she and Hazel were both grinning.

It only took 16 hours to get to the blockade of Trishula ships. Percy was hiding out in his cabin to avoid being seen, and Jason was at the wheel. Annabeth was on deck with the rest of the crew, and she could tell that everyone was nervous.
She could see the main ship preparing a boarding ramp from where she stood, and it did nothing to ease her nerves.
Jason pulled the Poseidon's Treasure alongside the Trishula navy, and the boarding ramp was lowered. Jason came down to greet them.
"Line up!" The first mate called, and Annabeth did so. She ended up in between Will and Frank.
The Trishula soldier was a broad-shouldered middle aged man who was dressed in the signature armor of a General. He addressed Jason.
"Is this everyone, Captain?"
Jason nodded. "Yes, General. Allow me to introduce you to my crew. Leo Valdez, Piper McLean, Nico di Angelo, Will Solace, Aaron Boldbrand, Frank Zhang, and Hazel Levesque."
"And you?" The general asked Jason.
"Jason Grace, sir."
The general nodded. He looked over his shoulder at the men he had brought on board with him. "Search them and their ship, and then they can be on their way."
