Hey guys, I want to apologize for being so slow on updating. I'm experiencing some writers block. I know what I want to happen in this story, I just don't know how to get to that point. So, I'm sorry if I don't update as much as I used to or should.
The plan was going good.
They had dropped the tip off to the 'traitor', as Estelle liked to call him, and now they were just waiting to see what was going to happen.
Annabeth glanced around at everyone. Piper, Jason, and Hazel were huddled in a corner of the vast room, talking and looking a little nervous. Frank and Percy were talking too, but most likely about something more serious, as they didn't look nervous at all. Will and Nico definitely had no cares in the world, as they were obviously flirting with each other, and Leo was supposedly on bathroom break, but since he had been gone for well over 15 minutes, Annabeth suspected he was with Calypso.
She sighed, not sure what to do, and nervously fidgeted. It did not go unnoticed. Sally came walking over with a kind smile on her face.
"You seem nervous, Annabeth. Are you okay?"
Annabeth shook her head. "Not really. A million things could go wrong."
The Queen laid a hand on her shoulder. "It's going to be fine. Everything's going to work out, you'll see. And not just with this. With everything."
Annabeth snorted. "Did you forget we're in the middle of a war right now?"
Sally paused and looked at Annabeth. "Did you forget what I told you?"
"What? That the relationship between Percy and I can stop the war? I still don't know what you mean."
"You're a bright girl, Annabeth. You'll figure it out."
And then the Queen walked away, leaving Annabeth to figure out what she meant, but the truth was, she already knew. She was just denying it. There was only one thing that she could mean. She and Percy should announce that they're together. Romantically. And Annabeth wasn't even sure that they were together.
Percy walked up to her, seeming to be done talking to Frank. "Are you okay, Wise girl?"
Annabeth met his eyes, sea green on gray. "I'm the opposite of fine."
"You just need to relax. Even if it doesn't work, we can do something else."
"Uh-huh. You sure about that? Luke will definitely see it coming if our plan today doesn't work."
Percy watched her for a second, then tentatively took her hand in his. "Just breathe, Annabeth. Slow your mind down, and think of the odds that this could go wrong."
Annabeth laughed a little. "That's the problem. Everything could go wrong."
Percy shrugged, "It won't." He kissed her cheek. "You'll see."
And then about 5 minutes later a guard walked in, saying that the tip was delivered. Everyone cheered, but Annabeth still had her doubts.
It wasn't just that everything was riding on this plan. It was also the stress of everything else. She didn't want to go home yet, and especially to her mother. I bet she's found me a husband, Annabeth thought to herself as everyone in the room dispersed.
Piper caught up to her and immediately noticed the look on her face.
"What?" She asked the princess.
Annabeth waved her off. "It's nothing. I just don't want to go home, that's all."
