Random idea that popped into my mind while I was supposed to be studying. The numbers at the top are the age of Aru. This takes place in an alternate universe.

I know Aiden is a year older than Aru, but... Alternate universe.

It was when it had all started. A guy named Aiden had moved into the house across from hers. He was... cute. Aru didn't expect him to be nice as well. She thought he would be snobby and hang out with the popular kids.

Boy, she was wrong.

13:

She and Aiden used to talk briefly, but now they talked to each other a lot more. They were best friends. And at midnight on Valentine's Day, the mark of the beginning of Aru's birthday, Aru's doorbell rang. She walked outside, annoyed she was disturbed from her sleep, and found a gift.

Some roses and a huge bag of Swedish Fish.

It was Valentine's Day, again, and every day, Aru couldn't stop thinking about what she had gotten last year. She wondered if she would get them again.

And she did.

15:

Every day, Aru was getting closer and closer to Aiden. She liked him. More than a friend. But, she wasn't sure if he liked her back. She'd even told him about the flowers and candy. Until, it was that time of year again. 

But this time, there was a card.

16:

Aiden had moved, and it was breaking Aru's heart. It had happened a month after her birthday, and it was permanent. Aru had been too scared to confess. But now she was over him, and her mind kept coming back to the letters she'd gotten. I really like you, Aru, they'd said. I'll be back next year, they'd said. And so, Aru eagerly waited for the card. She sat inside her house, waiting and waiting for her doorbell to ring.

But it never did.
