I love Aru Shah AUs, LOL. (Tell me if I should continue any of them?)

Aru Shah has always wanted a dog.

Maybe a Great Pyrenees.

She could name him Gandalf.

But nooooo.

According to her mother, she was way too irresponsible to take care of her own dog. Besides, she had a bunch of responsibilities in the museum too.

Growing up, she had always begged for a dog, always getting the same response: "Nope."

Aru sat in the park next to her best friend, Mini, and glared at one of the dog owners playing fetch with their pet.

Mini looked at Aru and sighed.

"If you want a dog that bad, maybe you should try earning it." Aru groaned.

"Five years, Mini, five years. I've begged her, done chores, helped out in the museum even on weekdays, gotten good grades, and so much more. But nope. She just won't get me a dog! I mean, it's not like the world's going to end once I get one, is it?"

Mini stared at her and Aru sighed.

"What is it?"

Mini just shrugged and took off her glasses to clean them.

"Honestly, Aru, you have little interest in things with less than four feet. Just because you like dogs so much doesn't mean you have to own one. Maybe you could volunteer at a pet shelter. Or help people walk their dogs. You know, become a dog walker or something."

Aru shot up.

"Mini, that's the best idea I've ever heard."

Aru stood up and threw her arms around Mini, which she almost immediately regretted, since Mini began to lecture her about how germs could spread.

Oh, well.

~ Couple years later ~

Ooh, new client, Aru thought, picking up her phone.

She'd been walking dogs for a couple years now. Sure, maybe she should do something even more productive, but at least it was a way to spend time with dogs without having her mother yell at her.

And the good part?

She gained so much money.

Aru looked through her phone to see a message from a new client, named Aiden Acharya.

Wait... Some guy with the last name "Acharya" moved into the house across from Aru's last week. Could it be him?

Well, at least I can welcome him into the neighborhood.

__

Aru was getting ready to meet the guy who moved across from her. Not only that, but she was going to meet a new dog: A French bulldog.

After changing into a shirt and jeans, Aru scurried down the stairs and quickly walked towards Aiden's house. She rang the doorbell, excited to meet the dog, and the owner opened the door.

She didn't expect him to be so handsome.

Aiden had curly black hair that fell over his even darker eyes. He was smiling warmly at Aru, revealing his dimples, and causing her to blush slightly.

"H-hi," Aru stammered, trying to hide her blush.

"Hey. I take it you're Aru?"

"Uh, yeah. That's me."

"Alright, then, maybe you should meet my dog," Aiden said, still smiling. He leaned back into his house, and called out the dog's name: "SHADOWFAX?!"

Aru almost choked on air.

"Did you name your poor dog after Gandalf's-"

"Gandalf's horse?" Aiden finished for her, a goofy yet slightly embarrassed grin plastered on his face, "Yup."

Aru laughed, not only because of the dog's name, but because she was shocked that she and Aiden both liked Lord of the Rings.

And Aru laughed even harder when Shadowfax trotted in, chewing on a shoe, staring innocently at Aiden as he glared back at the poor dog.

"My shoe..." Aiden muttered under his breath, picking up a slobber-covered sneaker. Aru finally managed to recover from her laughter.

"Is the dog new?" She asked. Aiden just nodded, clearly still mourning his lost shoe.

Aru whistled, and the dog trotted over to her.

"Good boy!" Aru exclaimed, feeding him a treat from her bag and patting his head. Aiden stared at her, shocked.

"How does he- How does he listen to you?" Aru smirked at him.

"Dogs just love me," She bragged. Aiden shook his head and sighed, causing Aru to laugh again.

She knew she was going to have a lot of fun with Shadowfax and Aiden.
