— castiel. —

it's their last day together, alone.
both of them were aware of it last night,
and they're certainly aware of it now that it's the last day.

sam already called to let them know he'd be home around four, and it was seven in the morning.
the angel found himself sitting up, staring at the wall.
it had just turned seven and dean was still fast asleep,
snoring into his pillow, covered by the comforter.

his human doesn't usually wake up till around ten or noonish, it depends on how late he goes to bed and dean didn't fall asleep until around four last night. dean is acutely aware that soon he can't be spending the night in castiel's room, making out with him on the couch, taking a shower together. he seems disappointed too, but he hasn't said it in words.

being an angel, he picks up on things, he's good at reading emotions and reactions. he feels the same as dean, he doesn't want today to be their last night to spend together, and he doesn't want to go back to being dean's secret behind closed doors. days like this make him upset that he doesn't sleep. he usually enjoys watching dean sleep, but he can't exactly focus on how beautiful dean is when his mind is wandering with constant reminders that he only has a couple of hours with dean.

suddenly an idea pops into his mind. castiel slowly gets out of bed, grabbing his pants off the floor as he pulled them up, checking to make sure dean was still sleeping.
dean was a light sleeper being that he was a hunter so the slightest creak would wake him up, but thankfully it doesn't. the angel walks into the kitchen, opening the fridge as he pulls out the brand new carton of eggs, bacon, and some butter.

he opens the cupboard above the stove and gets out the few frying pans he needs, popping some blueberry ego waffles into the toaster as he fries up some eggs and bacon. it doesn't take long for the eggs and the bacon to cook, by the time castiel finished cooking it's eight. it gives him something to do, and it gives dean a nice wake-up call.

castiel places the plate of food on a tray and grabs a bottle of beer for him, after cleaning up the kitchen, doing up the dishes, and starting the dishwasher he makes his way to his room, opening the door to the room; seeing a figure sitting up in bed. "oh, you're up?" castiel raises an eyebrow when he sees dean sitting crisscrossed on the bed, scrolling through his phone.

the human looks up at him, yawning softly as he rubs his eyes. "mm.. something smells good. what did you make?" dean asks, before turning off the alarm because he set it up so he could be up with castiel and spend the day with him longer, he'd never tell cass that though. "breakfast for you, eggs, waffles, and your favorite." castiel smiles as he walked over and placed the tray gently on dean's lap.

"no way." dean blinked twice when he noticed a whole pile of bacon on the plate and a beer, "cas, you're fucking awesome." he grabbed a piece of bacon with his fingers and stuck some in his mouth, immediately melting with how good it tasted. "wow, your cooking has improved." dean said, with wide green eyes as castiel grinned and nodded, sitting down by him. "that's good," he replied, as he grabbed the remote and turned on the tv.

it's immediately on the channel that dean always has on, always the old cartoons he watched as a kid. "what time is it?" dean suddenly asks, and castiel looks at the alarm clock. "almost nine." "alright." dean mutters, sighing a little." you alright?" castiel looks over at dean who nods, mouth full of bacon. "yeah, yeah. it's just... cas, these past four days with you have been a blast, thanks for that." dean smiled at him, trying to keep his mouth shut as he chewed his food, also pouring some beer down his throat.
