— dean. —
the drive felt a lot longer than it was.
he was never anxious while driving.
but he had better reason as any right now.
castiel and raziel were sitting next each other.dean had tried to convince sam to ride back next to raziel but he denied it, it honestly upset sam that he would suggest his usual passenger seat get taken by castiel. during the whole ride, sam kept yelling at him to pay attention to the road, but he couldn't stop himself from looking back every so often, sam didn't get it, but it was because castiel was sitting so close to the other angel that it rendered his older brother unable to focus, sam wouldnt understand.
"next time, i'm driving." sam sighs, shutting the door to the impala as he got out, "i think that might have been the worst driving i've ever seen you do." sam is ripping into him but he isn't paying attention, "shut up." it's clear the way he cuts in front of the two angels who were standing side by side, causing raziel to roll his eyes, but he earned a soft smile by castiel. "hello, dean." he says. "right so, this is the place." dean said, looking up at the large factory, there were a mile long of old, abandoned buildings beside it. "this seems like a trap."
"yeah, no kidding." sam snorted, "well, maybe we should spilt up, cover both sides. i'll take cas, dean you go with raziel." sam smiled, once castiel stepped towards him, swirling his angel blade in his hand as he looked towards the other two men, dean looked murderous.
"alright, cas and i will take the left, you go in through the back and we'll meet in the middle, got it?" sam looked at his brother who was already seething, glaring at him with intense "i hate you" eyes. "fine." dean spits out, immediately storming off towards the back as raziel sighed heavily and tried to keep up with him.
dean feels like he's been walking forever, he's checked almost every single factory, kicked down doors, always having his demon knife close by, but there wasn't any evidence of demons. no sulfur, no strange omens. it seemed stupid that they were trying to locate any more intel on their lead on lucifer, this was a death sentence.
"could you slow down?" the angel calls behind him, and it makes dean roll his eyes into the back of his skull. "you're an angel, don't you have wings? keep up." dean snapped, as raziel picked up the pace, now almost walking beside him. "has castiel told you anything? i'm not at my full power, and neither is he." raziel explained, dean only rolled his eyes once again. "yeah, yeah. the whole thing about you rebelling, and killing the angels. don't care." he shoved a piece of metal out of the way, causing a loud clang.
"aren't we trying to be discreet in case this is a trap?" raziel questions, stepping away from the metal before following dean. "you never shut up, do you?" he turned to look at him, raziel shoots him a glare, before biting his tongue, it seemed he now had a filter since talking with castiel. "i'm sorry," the angel muttered, "for hurting you," he says.
"huh, that seemed genuine." dean couldn't help the tug at his lips which caused raziel to sigh, "it wasn't wise of me to react like that, castiel is a dear friend of mine. i was worried something bad happened to him." raziel explained, causing dean to let down his guard a little. "yeah, man. i get it but cas is my friend too, i wouldn't have let anything happen to him." he replies, the angel seemed shocked for a moment. "but you told him that he didn't mean anything to you?" he replied, causing dean's eyes to widen, almost popping out of his skull.
he wanted to be mad at castiel for airing their dirty laundry, but he couldn't find it in himself. it seemed reasonable that castiel would vent to someone he thought was a friend about something bothering him. "that's... uh, listen that shit is personal, that's mine and cas's business. but, sometimes i say things i don't mean when i get angry. that's all that was." dean quickly shut down the opportunity for raziel to question him, following the path, and watching every single step he makes.
