— castiel. —

before.

"we are assigning you to dean winchester."

castiel was one of the top soldiers in heaven.
his rank in heaven was a seraph, which naturally translates to a shielder of god, in the bible terms.

castiel was one of heaven's greatest soldiers,
and the most loyal angel in their garrison.
and considered the runt of the flock.

sometimes when an angel was given a mission, they would ask questions and have doubts. wonder why they had to do what they had to do, but castiel never questioned it. he only agreed to fulfill the mission he was given and succeed beyond their expectations.

most of them he did. sometimes he would make mistakes and cause problems by accident, but he always meant well. and as long as he continued to prove himself, heaven was dedicated to making castiel one of the highest ranks, one of their best. castiel was already taking anna's position of leader in his garrison.

but recently he was given a mission. he accepted gratefully, but questions clawed at the back of his mind.
during their meeting, his superiors seemed sullen. he kept rewatching it back for any clue on why he was doing this. why heaven needed this. he wished they would tell him more.

angels haven't been allowed to be on earth in many millennia, not since they had to purify the earth of a nephilim. nonetheless, be allowed to get involved with humans. nonetheless, rescue one from the pits of hell.
that seemed like forbidden territory.

that was god's job, not that there was a god anymore.
it seemed every angel knew it, except for castiel.
his garrison had assumed that he refused to accept their father's absence. he believed god would come back.

the garrison was made up of a few high-class angels.
castiel, heaven's most loyal, superior of the garrison.
inias, heaven's kindest, most thoughtful angel.
raziel, second in command to castiel.
anna. their superior but recently has fallen.
hester, one of the grumpiest angels.
uriel, the funniest angel in the garrison.
nathaniel, the most skilled fighter of second-rank angels.
ophaniel, a brother of the archangels and was next in line to become one.
sariel, angel of guidance.
evangelina, heaven's most successful messenger.

he was friends with his entire garrison.
but he was closest with raziel, more than close in fact.
castiel was a good leader, he was kind. he focused on bringing up the spirits of the angels he was chosen to lead. determined to make them all better soldiers.

32 is castiel's room number.
it's a large white room, with a white comforter not completely fixed up over the white sheets on the mattress.

there's a white desk, accompanied by a chair. a notebook sitting on top of the desk with a pen. castiel wasn't in this room a lot, he was assigned other jobs. the angels were preparing for a war, which would have castiel trained.

he's won wars before, against other rebelling angels. his superiors wanted him more than strong. he sometimes helped souls into heaven, to switch up the memories for some of the souls. he was assigned many jobs so he wasn't in his room a lot.

there's a small noise against the door. which breaks castiel out of his train of thought, and the door opens. standing there is a blonde-haired figure with icy blue eyes. this figure belongs to raziel, one of heaven's most skilled fighters out of the second rank, ranked seraphim, the second rank of the angel class.
