"A-a gang?" I stuttered.
"Yeah..." He scratched the back of his head. "Believe me Bailey, I was going to tell you I just wanted to wait a little."
I didn't say anything. It didn't scare me or make me mad. I was just kind of shocked.
"Bailey say something please." He lifted my chin with his fingers and I met his eyes.
"I don't mind." I said.
"You don't?"
"No. I think it's kind of cool." I smiled.
"It's dangerous." He corrected.
"Still cool." I laughed. "So what was yesterday really about?"
"It was a get together. We have them every month to try and keep peace between our groups. It's an old tradition but it never works that way. The parties always cause more problems between gangs." He explained.
"Then why do you do it?" I asked.
"We don't like to break tradition. It's important especially to some. Anyways, there are four gangs here in Malibu. My gang-"
"Wait your the leader?"
"Yeah." He scratched the back of his head again.
"I still don't mind." I held his hand on the sheets.
He smiled. "Well there's mine, Ethan's, and two other ones who like stay out of the way. Ethan and I have never liked each other. Our parents hated each other. Especially our moms."
"Damn."
"But Bailey, you can't tell anyone. Not Lexi, not Max, not Joey. Ok?" He grabbed my other hand.
"Ok." I nodded my head.
"I'm serious. They could be put in danger. I can't protect all of them. My main focus is protecting you." I smiled at his words. "Let's go get breakfast?" He suggested.
"Yeah. I just need to act not hungover." I laughed and got up slowly.
"Your not hungover you were drugged." He corrected me.
"My bad!" I laughed as I started to regain my balance in walking around my room.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yeah. Let's take the elevator though." I walked slowly out of my room and Bennett helped me whenever I stumbled.
We got in the elevator and took it down to the first floor. I walked out and my parents noticed. "Looks who's finally awake." Me mom smiled at me.
"Morning mom." I said and sat down at the table.
"What do you want for breakfast?" My dad asked sitting down across from me.
"French toast sounds really good."
"What about you Bennett?" My dad turned to him.
"I don't need anything. I should get going soon." He declined.
"Nonsense! You can stay. You helped my daughter get home safe last night."
"I'll have French toast too then." He smiled at me.
"Maria. Two French toasts please!" My dad called to our maid. She was practically family and was around almost all the time.
"Right away Mr. Pierce." She nodded and went to the kitchen to make the food.
"So are you two dating yet?" My mom randomly asked.
Bennett was drinking coffee and spit it up. "What?"
