"And then Joey and I had to play him and his friend in spike ball but we- what?" I asked Bennett who was listening and smiling at me.
"I just love hearing about your day." He responded making me smile and blush.
It was lunch and I was avoiding asking him about what Ethan said to me. I didn't want to ruin what we had.
"Something bothering you?" He asked.
"Oh it's nothing. Just something he said. He was just trying to get under my skin." I shook my head.
"Tell me."
I really wish he didn't say that.
"No it's nothing. I don't need to bother you with it. How was your first two classes?" I asked switching the subject to him.
"Bailey. Just tell me."
I sighed. He was going to find out sooner or later. "He said that...that you killed his parents." I took a deep breath and slowly met his eyes. "Did you?" I my voice was barley above a whisper.
He scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah. But only because I found out that his parents were the ones who killed mine and he bragged about it."
"He deserves it." I pointed out trying to avoid the fact that my almost boyfriend killed two people.
"You don't have to pretend to be fine with it." He noticed.
"It's just- can we go somewhere more private to talk about this?"
"Sure. I know a spot." He got up and grabbed his bag. I followed and he led me back behind the portables. "Nobody comes out here."
"I honestly don't know what to think. Yes, Ethan is a grade A asshole but he didn't deserve to have his parents be murdered." I rambled.
"I don't want to justify what I did. I still think about it everyday." Bennett looked upset.
"H-how did you do it?" I shouldn't have asked. It wasn't my business. But I was really curious.
"I shot them." He answered. "It was the easiest way."
"Oh." I didn't say anything else for a couple minutes and neither did he.
After about five minutes of us awkwardly standing there, I finally said something. "I don't want this to ruin what we have. I still really like you and I would have found out eventually. Right?"
"Yeah I would have told you once you were more adapted to the gang world."
"So there's no point in getting mad at you." I took a step forward.
"Guess not." He took one too. "So we're good?"
"We're good." I confirmed looking at his lips. He mirrored my action and we both leaned in.
Our lips collided and started moving in sync. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist.
We made out for five seconds until the bell rang interrupting us.
"Guess it's time for Spanish." Bennett laughed looking down at me.
"Guess so." I smiled and picked up my backpack I had previously dropped on the ground.
We walked together to Spanish and once we got there, pulled out our books. I hated this class but having Bennett made it so much better.
We were doing work but about halfway through class, there was a knock at the door. I looked up and our teacher opened the door. The vice principal walked in with Ethan behind him.
