Bailey:
Joey took a protective step in front of me as the door opened and we saw Ethan walk in with five men. They were much older and much stronger than us.
"Joey move." Ethan spoke to Joey but stared directly at me.
"No."
"Joey I won't ask again."
"You didn't ask the first time." I mumbled. Joey snickered.
Ethan sucked his teeth to contain his anger. "Move Joey." His tone this time scared me.
I knew Joey was scared too but he refused to step aside. Ethan knew this and pulled out a gun.
"Joey if you don't move I will shoot you. Your a great lacrosse player so I would hate to have to kill you but if you do not get out of my way, you will leave me no choice."
"Joey just move. I can't loose you."
"Will you be ok?" He turned to look me in the eye.
"Yeah." I said but it came out as more of a question.
"Ok." He nodded and took a small step aside.
Ethan stalked toward me his men close behind. Two of them grabbed Joey and dragged him back. The others stood off to the side watching intently.
I learnt from Bennett that you can't pay attention to things happening around you. Only pay attention to what's in front of you. So that's what I did. I only focused on Ethan.
His eyes were burning through mine and I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. He was now right in front of me and I could feel his breath fanning on my face.
It smelled minty with a hint of smoke. I looked up at him through my eye lashes hoping he wouldn't try anything.
But who was I kidding? This was going to be bad. He had to restrain Joey. Whatever he had planned was not going to be good for me.
I stood my ground staring him in the eye waiting for his move. There was no way I could get out of this but I was sure as hell going to try.
"Where is Hawthorne?" Ethan snapped me out of my thoughts.
"How would I know? I've been here." I snapped at him.
I suddenly felt a stinging in my cheek and my head flew to the side. He slapped me. I chuckled softly making him more mad. I didn't know where this sudden boldness was coming from but I liked it.
I could hear Joey yelling but I stayed focused on Ethan. My head turned back to him with a big smile plastered on my face. I kept giggling which confused him.
"Damn your weak as shit!" I laughed. My face hurt like a bitch but I wasn't going to tell him that. As my hands were swinging around, Ethan grabbed both my wrists and pushed them back onto the pillow on the bed.
He picked my body up effortlessly throwing that on the bed. He pushed my wrists more into the pillow which began to hurt.
"Say that again, darling." He put his face right in front of mine. "I dare you." His voice was just above a whisper.
I thought about it for a minute. Saying it again would be the right thing to do but that could result in a lot of pain.
If I didn't say it again though, he would call me weak and a pussy. I am neither of those things so I took a deep breath and repeated my statement.
"You. Are. Weak. As shit. What was unclear about that?" I tilted my head taunting him further.
The hand gripping my wrists tightened and a whimper escaped my lips. "Not so tough now huh?" It was now his turn to taunt me.
