The nurse lady started leading me back and it was awkward so I tried to make some conversation.
"So what's your name?" I asked instantly regretting it.
"Anna." She answered plainly.
"Cool." I nodded not knowing what else to say.
We continued walking until she suddenly stopped and shoved me against the wall with a pocket knife against my throat.
I didn't move at all but my breathing picked up. This woman could kill me right now and there would be nothing I could do about it.
"You can't hide from him." She smirked. "He will be here soon and he will kill your friends. You will never be free of him."
I couldn't even form a sentence. This situation has gotten so ridiculous so fast. An alarm suddenly started blaring throughout the safe house.
"He's here. Get ready." She smirked yet again this time it really pissed me off.
I used my heel and kicked her hard in the back of the knee and used my hands to grab the blade from her. She fell to the ground and I knelt down and held the blade to her throat harshly.
"I'm not going to hurt you because I'm not like you or him. You will go run back to him and tell him that you were too weak to beat me. Otherwise I will change my mind and kill you." I stood up.
She scrambled to her feet and ran off in the other direction. I had to get to Bennett and warn him. I started running back down the hallways trying to remember the way.
I quickly got lost in the maze of rooms. "Shit!" I cussed quietly stopping to catch my breath. I went to text Lexi when I suddenly remembered my phone was still in Bennett's house on his nightstand.
I kept walking around hoping I could find the mini hospital again. I found the basement stairs that the hospital was in so I went down but it quickly got dark.
The lights had been turned off so seeing was a little difficult. "Bennett? You in here?" I called out.
There was no response so I figured I should just leave but I turned around and ran into someone.
"Oh Bennett you scared me. Look the nurse attacked me and said Ethan was coming so we have to get out of here now." I explained.
He just hummed in response. I kept hoping my eyes would adjust to the darkness and I could see his face. If this were Bennett he would have made sure I was ok now.
This isn't Bennett.
I took a subtle step back and took off running in the other direction. I heard this person, whoever he was, running behind me.
I ran to the wall and felt for a light switch which I found and flicked it on instantly regretting my decision.
Ethan was right in front of me.
"Stay the fuck away from me." I held the knife up at him.
"Darling didn't Bennett ever tell you not to bring a knife to a gun fight?" He pulled out a gun and put it to my head.
My stomach dropped and I looked up at him trying to figure out what to do.
"Why do you keep trying to get me? You can literally get any girl you want but why me?" I asked very clearly stalling.
"It pisses Bennett off. And you're hot." He smirked down at me. I just looked at him with pure disgust. "Alright time to go. We will talk about this when we get someplace safe."
The way he said talk made it sound like he would be yelling and I would be curling up in a ball wishing I was in Bennett's arms.
"Let's go." He grabbed my arm and led me out of the basement. If I were to make a run for it, he wouldn't shoot me but there was also no way for me to escape him.
