Bailey:

Before he left, Bennett shot me a small smile to reassure me everything would be alright.

"Here Bailey." Joey handed me my shorts that were on the ground.

"Thanks." I was so embarrassed about this whole thing. I knew Joey didn't care but I did. Bennett definitely didn't mind either but I couldn't help feeling this way.

I slipped the shorts on quickly and sat quietly next to Joey on the bed.

"Look, if we could help you two, we would." Braunson randomly blurted out.

"Why can't you?" Joey asked before I could.

"Ethan is powerful. Very powerful and he's about to become even more so when Bennet hands the gang over." Nate answered.

I felt like the were sincere. I mean, Nate did give me his hoodie when I felt uncomfortable and Braunson seemed to be the type to act tough but was really just a big softie.

"I get it. You don't want to take risks. You want to live your whole life following the leader. You want to know that you will always survive as long as you follow the rules. But what if your following the wrong person? I mean, what if you spend all this time following the bad guy that you don't realize you're turning into one? Is that really who you want to be?"

I saw them contemplate what I was saying and it looked like they did genuinely care. Like they could see where I was coming from.

Before they could respond to my little speech, Ethan walked back in all happy and gleeful with Bennett behind him not looking as happy. But when he saw me, his face lit up and he rushed over to me.

"Bailey! Are you alright?"

"I'm ok. Way better now that your here." I cupped his face and pressed my lips onto his. "Thank you."

"Anytime." He smiled before pulled away and giving Joey a quick hug. "Let's go."

We walked out in front of Bennett. He made sure to glare at Ethan until he was out of sight.

"I only have a motorcycle so let's all squeeze on." He sat down and motioned for me to sit behind him. "I did not think this through." He chuckled to lighten the mood.

"We will fit it's ok." I smiled at his efforts.

Joey sat behind me and we took off. It wasn't too fast and the wing blowing through the holes in my helmet felt nice.

It was a short ride so we hopped off and walked into his house which I had never seen before. The first thing I saw was Lexi running up to me and throwing her arms around me.

"Bay are you ok?" She squeezed me tightly.

"I think she would be better if you let her breathe." Max chuckled and shoved Lexi off me to give me a hug.

Lexi moved over to Joey and made sure he was ok. "I'm glad your back." Max rubbed my back making me feel better.

The five of us walked into the living room where three more people sat. "Guys this is my cousin, Nick. The one that helped me after my parents died." Bennett introduced us.

"Nice to meet you." I smiled at him.

"Likewise." He smiled back. Joey dapped him up and Bennett moved on.

"This is Chase and Bonnie. They helped us when Max got shot at the party."

"You got shot at the party?" I turned to face him.

"Yeah, in the foot. You didn't know because you were too busy getting kidnapped." Max chuckled.

"Shut up dude." I shoved his shoulder playfully.
