~Five~

"We should have a sleepover tonight!" Lexi suggested.

"I don't know Lex. I'm already tired. And I want to talk to Bennett." I smiled when I mentioned his name.

"So now he's more important than me?" She asked faking being offended.

"No!" I laughed hugging her.

"Call him right now. I will just be on the other side of the room scrolling through Insta."

I gave her a look asking if she was serious. She was so I grabbed my phone watching her sit in a chair in the corner.

I pressed the button and the FaceTime started ringing.

"Hey what's up?" He answered. Seeing him instantly brought a smile to my face.

"I was bored and wanted to call you." I replied.

"Feeling any better?" He asked.

"Yeah just tried. When will I feel normal again?" I asked.

"You should be fine by tomorrow. You just have to sleep it off and you did a lot of that last night." He smiled.

"What are you doing the rest of the day?" I asked changing the subject.

"I've got to go back to baseball in an hour. You?"

"Sleep apparently." I sarcastically answered.

"Sleep is good." He laughed. "Also I've got some bad news."

"What?" I sat up a little straighter bracing myself for what he was about to say.

"Ethan. He's in your P.E. class" I felt my heartbeat pick up and looked over at Lexi who gave me an apologetic look. She couldn't say anything.

"How do you know?" I asked after a minute.

"I looked it up after hacking into the school records. Well I didn't, my tech guy did." I knew he was trying to make jokes so I would forget about the situation but I couldn't.

I was scared.

Ethan scared me.

"Thank you for telling me." I was thankful he told me but I would rather not have known and stressed all weekend.

"Yeah. Look I've got to get ready. Call you later? At nine?"

"I don't know if I'll be up. It's five and I'm already exhausted." I admitted.

"Well I'll text you when I can call and if you don't respond, your asleep."

"Alright. Bye Bennett."

"Later." He hung up.

"I'm so screwed Lexi! Joey is the only person I know if P.E! And what if he's not there one day! What am I going to do?" My breathing had picked up.

"Calm down Bay. It's going to be ok. You can always get a schedule change." She pointed out.

"True but then Joey would be alone. I don't want to do that to him."

"Joey has other friends you know. He is a social butterfly." She laughed.

"Still. I can manage. He won't do anything at school. There's too much to risk."

"If you say so." She got up and jumped back on my bed next to me. "If I'm not sleeping over I should probably get home now. Want me to text my parents?"

"Sure." I stared at my newly painted fingernails trying not to pick at them.

"Please don't spend all day tomorrow worrying." She noticed my nerves.
