The fire had already burned a good portion of the way into the passageway and I sent an X-shape slashed down the rest of the way to clear out the webs. I felt a relatively fast spawner in the middle of a small chamber at the end of the passageway. I could also sense two branching paths going off in opposite directions connecting the other chambers.
"So it makes a circle, huh?" I said out loud near the entrance into the chamber. It would be too dangerous to fight all the spiders in this close of a proximity. Plus, I feel a rather large life force in each chamber and I would rather not fight it in this cramped space. Ok, I will rush in to the room and break the spawner, while simultaneously sending a large energy slash to the next chamber through the connecting passageways. "Alright. Go!" I yelled light-stepping into the chamber and slamming my pick into the spawner. I slashed my charged sword in the direction of the next passageway and immediately light-stepped through it. I repeated this process with each of the chambers.
This is bad. I just hit the seventh one and I could feel an extremely large amount of spiders behind me. I picked up my speed in destroying the next two and reached the starting chamber. I turned and shot back up into the large cavern. As soon as I reached the cavern, I turned on my heels and slammed the last remaining fire charges back into the horde of oncoming spiders. After which I sent a large X-shaped energy slash into the passageway.
I felt a large number of the spiders die, along with a lot of exp. orbs floating towards me. I could still sense the large eight life forms moving forward in my direction. "Ok. Time to show me your ugly faces," I said as eight large spiders crawled out of the passageway and into the room. Half of them immediately charged me and half of them took to the ceiling. I light-stepped to the side and was met by a spider lunging at me. I jumped over it, but one of the spiders from the ceiling came down to meet me. I spun like a saw and sent out energy slashes to cut both of them in half.
"Two down," I said launching myself up to the ceiling. I slammed both swords up into the top of one of the spiders crawling around up there. I crushed its body and killed it instantly. I sent out a sweeping energy slash to force the other spiders down onto the ground. I saw three spiders in a close grouping and I shot of the ceiling and slammed down on the center of them causing a shockwave that killed them.
"Six down," I counted as the last two rushed at me. One jumped up above the other to stop me from going above it, or so it thought. I threw my sword into the spider still on the ground sticking it in its head. I rushed forward and used its head as a launch pad to jump up and flip towards the other airborne spider. I slashed it in half with the momentum of my flip. The last spider charged me when I hit the ground, but I reached out and grabbed the sword imbedded in its head and turned brining the sword out of its head with a slash cutting it in half.
The fire on the ceiling revealed a hole leading up into an upper chamber. As there was also a hole in the middle of the room. The fire was still burning its way down that hole, so I chose to probe the upper chamber with my senses. There was four spawners up there still producing spiders at a dizzying pace.
I looked up at the now open hole in the ceiling. I jumped up through the hole in the ceiling into the chamber and immediately charged at the first spawner. I broke it and ducked under a couple cave spiders jumping at my head. I spun like a top sending out multiple energy slashes in all directions taking out two of the spawners and any of the spiders left in the chamber. I light-stepped over to the last spawner and shattered it, along with my pickaxe.
"Well crap. That was my last one," I said retreating back down into the cavern below me. I could feel the large life force moving to come after me. I jumped back from under the hole, right as a large spider came falling down from the hole. It was two times as big as the ones I had just faced. It roared before it charged at me. I instinctively jumped over it and brought my fist down on its back. Instead of an instant kill though, it smacked me into one of the walls.
" Oh. So you're a little bit stronger than the others. Interesting," I stated rolling to the side of it as it charged at me. I slashed at its side cutting off one of its legs. I ducked under it as it swung its legs at me out of rage. I stabbed my swords up into its abdomen and pulsed energy through my blades, before I spilt them apart in opposite directions. This cut the large spider completely in half. I used my senses and found not a single spider left in this cavern, not even the branching pathways.
"The swords aren't here. That only leaves," I said looking at the hole in the middle of the cavern.
