Mike's POV:

I opened my eyes to see the ceiling of the house we were assigned to stay in during the mayor's little project. Little my butt. It's already been two months since we started and we've been through over fifteen cities. I can remember when we started back in New Napal.

Two months earlier:

"Thank you to all of the builders and fighters that have agreed to our project. We will be trying to help fellow cities and towns in the defense against the monsters plaguing this world!" The mayor yelled in an extravagant manor. I didn't like the way he said "monsters". "Now we have a very special guest coming with the group today! Mike the Reaper has agreed to take part in this little project." He continued. I could hear lots of gasps and exclamations of surprise come from the crowd. He left out mentioning Andr on purpose. "Off you go!" He stated pointing out of the city.

Present time:

"Screw that mayor," I said under my breath, which I could see. It's fricken cold. Andr, on the other hand wasn't cold. She's stealing all my body heat to keep herself warm.

"We are almost finished here, so don't worry about it," she said sitting up sleepily. She's right, we are almost finished here and we only have a few more cities left to visit before we can head back. We've been training with any free time that we get. Andr has gotten faster and more precise with her teleportation. She can also go long distances and teleport more often. Me on the other hand, I have been trying to increase my speed and fighting skill, not just my strength. Over these last few months, we both have gotten extremely stronger.

We finished this city's upgrades right at sun down, so we all decided to stay one more night and move in the morning. I was about to head in and call it a day, when I felt it. Something big and dangerous rapidly heading in this direction.

"Hey! Ready yourselves!" I yelled to the fighters in the group. "Something's coming!" That's when I saw it. A giant, titan, looking zombie. "That must be a mutant," I stated before moving forward. Andr teleported ahead of me and struck it in the stomach with her sword causing it to real back. Just then five arrows shot out of the tree line aiming right for her. She blocked it with her sword, but it gave the titan enough time to bring down its two fists aimed at her.

"Just in time," I said blocking its hit with my arms in an X-shape. The force of its hit made the ground I was standing on crumble into a small crater. I pushed up with my arms and caused it to stumble backwards giving us enough time to teleport out of the way of another attack of arrows. Using my senses I could see a mutant skeleton in the tree line taking aim at us. "Andr, I will leave that to you," I said stepping towards the titan.

"Alright!" She replied teleporting away.

A few hours later:

"So that's what mutant mobs are like," I said sitting down on my bed to go to sleep.

"They're going to be a pain in the butt," Andr said sitting next to me. "Oh well. No use worrying about it now. I'm tired."

"Yeah. Let's get some sleep," I said laying down.
