When I walked through the door I was met by a thin wall of spider webs. "Right. Spiders make webs. This is going to suck," I said out loud cutting through the webs with my swords. The webs caught fire from my swords. "Oh. Fire aspect. Helpful," I stated smiling. I focused energy into my feet to keep me from sticking on the webs covering the floor. I lit a lantern I brought with me instead of using torches. I also brought fire charges to burn the webs.
After a couple of meters I could make out the sound of spiders crawling across the ground and the sound of a spawner. I pulled out my pickaxe from my inventory and placed it in the loop on my pants. I had prepared pickaxes for this purpose. Light-stepping forward to cover the distance to the spawner, I took the spiders by surprise and smashed the spawner before they could react. I sliced two of the spiders in half while stopping on another's head.
"Don't want you calling for help," I whispered to myself. I used my senses to scout out the rest of the cave and only found about three more spawners before a large hole in the wall of the cave covered by webs blocked my view.
A couple of minutes later I was in front of the hole after destroying the rest of the spawners and killed any spiders on my way to the hole. I quickly slashed the webs down before anything in the large cavern could take notice.
"Here goes nothing," I said as I tossed the lantern into the middle of the cavern. The lantern exploded, catching a good portion of the webs in the center of the cavern. Instantly, hundreds of red glowing eyes turned to stared at me and was followed by a chorus of spider screeches. "Well crap," I stated jumping into the large cavern and I landed next to a spawner.
The second my feet hit the webs of the floor, ten spiders jumped at me from all directions. I pulsed my energy out in all directions causing a shockwave that pushed the lunging spiders back into the walls. I immediately spiked my senses to examine the room. I found that there was around twenty spawners in the room along with an extremely large amount of spiders. I pulled out my pick and chucked it at the nearest spawner and stuck it in the top of it. I ducked under a lunging spider and stuck my sword into its abdomen. It simultaneously caught fire and I slammed it into another lunging spider catching it on fire. I shot forward and brought my foot down on the pickaxe stuck in the spawner, destroying it as I broke a fire charge in its place.
"Alright. Let's do this," I said sending out an energy slash in the direction of the next spawner. I followed behind it and slammed my pickaxe straight down into it, shattering it and breaking another fire charge in its place. I doubt the swords are in this cavern, but in order to progress forward, I will need to clear this room. I noticed the amount of spiders was not decreasing at all. So I chose not to fight them and to destroy the spawners that kept creating them. I shot from spawner to spawner repeating the process of destroying then and using a fire charge in its place.
After I broke the last spawner, I slammed my swords into the ground and sent out a shockwave, disintegrating any spiders in my close proximity. I stopped to look around the room and I spotted eight holes in the walls leading down into the earth. I could see a steady stream of spiders flowing out of them. "Looks like more spawners down that way," I stated. The fire had mostly gone out on the floor and the walls. Now it was eating away at the ceiling.
