"Well, well, well hello chicken," Davina taunted as she entered the sitting room.
"What?" I questioned as I sat on the small chair in the almost empty room, that Killian had cleaned out the night before.
"It is not what, you will greet me properly," Davina gritted her teeth and pushed her head forward as she expanded her eyes.
"Hello, Davina," I said with a hint of sarcasm as I tried not to roll my eyes.
"No," She growled as she bared her canine teeth. "You do not and will not address by my name, it is Baroness Wakefield or my lady or your Grace,"
"Hello Baroness Wakefield," I stated plainly.
"I am of higher rank than you, you will stand and curtsy when you address me, do it again," The Baroness smiled smugly as she walked around my chair.
"Hello Baroness Wakefield," I rose from my chair and curtsied. I was so over this, and where was Killian he said he would just be a minute, but it feels like forever. I really hope I don't have to spend all day with this infuriating woman.
"Pathetic, your curtsy was shit, and you never make eye contact with those above your station, you look at the floor," Davina scoffed as rolled her dark brown eyes making her way over to the window. "I'm having a hard time believing The Queen Mother is accepting of you," I didn't speak, I didn't say anything because she was right, Constance didn't accept me, she by all accounts hates me. "Here, I will show you one time how to curtsy then it is up to you," She rolled her eyes put her right foot behind her left, held out her right hand, bowed her head, and dipped low.
"Ahh, Davina I see you too are getting ready for our soon-to-be- Queen," Killian walked into the sitting room his blonde hair flowing behind him.
"Ha, I was just showing Phemie here how to give a good curtsy," Davina forced a smile on her ruby-red lips as she watched my mate like a hawk.
"Curtsy?" The King asked as he moved closer to me. "No, she will be above rank to everyone, and equal to rank with me, she will need to bow to no one,"
"She will become a Countess first, and who knows how long it will take for you two to be married, so she will have royals ahead in rank that she will bow to. Equal, what do you mean equal?" Davina twisted her face as her eye started to twitch.
"No, she will be Queen, she will not have to bow, yes equal, she will never bow to me, we are one," Killian grabbed my hand and kissed it before looking at me longingly.
"But..." The Baroness began as she looked at him with puppy dog eyes.
"No, buts, I am King and..." Killian started to raise his voice but I put my hand on his chest.
"It's okay, I am to be a countess first, I will have others that I will have to bow to, it's alright," I reassured The King as I rubbed on his chest and looked over to Davina that had a look of hate plastered on her face.
"You don't have to my love, you will be Queen and bow to no one," Killian whispered bending down toward my ear.
"I'm sure, obviously it's important to Baroness Wakefield, and if it means that much to her then imagine how much it means to the others. We don't want chaos to ensue," I relayed as I moved away from both of them and followed The Baroness' instructions. I moved my right foot behind my left, raised my right arm out, bowed my head, and dipped my body low.
"Well done my love, well done," Killian clapped his hands as he wrapped his arms around my waist and hoisted me up toward his face. "I think I will sit in today, I just can't bring myself to be parted from my mate,"
"As you wish Your Majesty," Davina bowed her head as she looked at me with disdain.
"Sire, I couldn't get through to your mind-link, Alpha Marshall Greene of the Nova Pack has been trying to reach you, it's urgent," Beta Riley came into the room as he brushed back his blonde hair that seemed to be disheveled.
"Work never ceases, I will be back, carry on," The King uttered as he bent down and kissed my lips.
"I'll be back, I'm getting a call, then we'll move on to eating properly," Davina muttered as she held up her cell phone and headed into the adjoining room. I quietly followed her through the passageway, I found last night and listened to her conversation. "Yes, I'm here now, I've been here all morning, unfortunately, the council found out yesterday that she does in fact have royal blood," She scoffed as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "She doesn't know anything, it's like teaching a child, Killian came in, yes, he said she is to be his equal. As in she will never have to bow to him, I was supposed to be his chosen mate, and I would have had to bow, why will she be his equal?" She whined as she began pacing around the library as she switched the phone to her other ear. "Yes, I have to go finish with the brat, I will try everything not to get them married and her to be Queen," She hung up the phone and headed back into the sitting room as I made my way out of the passageway coming through the kitchens and back into the sitting room.
"Apologies I was in the restroom," I said as I closed the large door behind me.
"I don't want to know about your bathroom habits, grab that chair and bring it to that table. It's time you learned real etiquette," The Baroness rolled her eyes as she pointed to the small table in the corner of the room.
