"IS THAT YOUR GIRL, WHAT'S HER FUCKIN' STORY?
SHE KINDA BAD BUT SHE RIDE IT LIKE A FUCKIN' PONY"___
Jennifer's POV:
I was in my room, listening to music to relax. Deftones is my favorite band, my brothers say it's getting tiresome listening to it over and over again from my room, but they just don't get it.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," I shouted over the music.
My big brother, John, opened the door, accompanied by my best friend, James.
James and I have been best friends from an early age, simply because our fathers were partners, both owner of the garage. So, you might ask, why isn't he best friends with one of my brothers? Simply because he chose me, and I was delighted by it.
I stood up to turn down the music and welcome him.
"I believe this is yours." John said before tapping James's shoulder as he made a half-turn.
"Thanks, butthead." I yelled at John as I slammed the door behind James, who had now entered.
James threw himself on my bed, turning to me with a big grin. There was usually nothing good about that face.
"Spit it out," I said, crossing my arms as I stood facing my bed.
His smile widened even more.
"You know me too well," he says, reaching up and stroking my chin.
"There's a race tonight, and I'm taking part." he says with a proud expression.
I frowned at this. We'd been into mechanics since we were very young, so anything to do with cars was bound to interest us. We started racing when we got our license, but we knew it was dangerous.
The last time James raced, he nearly died crashing into a wall.
"James, don't you remember what happened last time?" I say, slightly annoyed that he'd even consider doing it again after such a short time.
"I'm a big boy, Jenn. I'll be all right." he says, trying to reassure me.
"Who are you even racing against?" I asked, more seriously.
"Four new guys who just came to town. They were bragging about being the best racers in Germany, so I challenged them," he said, which made my eyes pop out of their sockets.
I loved James with all my heart, but how stupid could he be when it came to his male ego?
"So now you're telling me you're racing alone against four guys we don't know?" I say, trying to rationalize things.
"Yes, but I'm going to win because my lucky charm will be by my side," he says with a big smile.
I couldn't let James down, especially not after the accident last time.
"Okay I'll come to your side." I say, raising my hands in defeat.
He let out a squeal of delight before throwing himself into my arms.
