"I'M STILL COMING BACK TO YOU "

_

JENNIFER'S POV:

James had taken his break as i remained at the cash desk, trying to keep myself occupied as best i could. It had been two days since i had kicked the brothers out of my house, and i had been harassed by messages from them to which i gave no response.

the truth was, i felt hurt. i felt hurt by Tom, who didn't think i was emotionally capable of handling the situation. he really thought of me as a kid who couldn't do what grown-ups do. i had saved him from Fred for fuck sakes and he didn't think i could handle myself?

i was lost in thought when i heard the front door open. i looked up to see Gustav's silhouette entering the garage. i rolled my eyes and scoffed at the sight.

"if you're here to convince me to talk to Tom and Bill, it won't work" i say, arching an eyebrow and crossing my arms over my chest. he smiled before approaching the counter.

"i'm only here because i think there's something wrong with my engine and i know you've got the best garage in town" he chuckled, raising his hands to the sky as if to show he was innocent. i pressed my lips together, looking at him in amusement.

"James is on a break, so i guess i'll take care of it" i sighed, walking around the counter before following Gustav to his car as he grinned to himself.

i lifted the hood and watched the smoke coming out of the engine, which was in bad shape. Gustav's car wasn't as well cared for as Tom's or Bill's. there were scratches and dents on the doors and it was a bit dirty.

"so... are you going to talk to Tom again soon?" asked Gustav, leaning on his car as he watched me try to repair his engine. i arched an eyebrow at his reflection.

"i thought you were only here for your car" i was sure that Tom had sent Gustav here to talk to me and convince me to give him a chance to explain. he really was desperate.

"listen Jenn, you're the best thing that's happened to Tom in a long time" he began with a sigh. "i don't want him to lose you, you're such a good influence on him"

"Gustav-" i turned my head towards the little blond who was looking at me with such hope in his eyes. i thought it was cute that he was thinking about his friend's well-being.

"please, Jennifer, you're not going to throw away your whole relationship with him over a little argument, are you?" he asked, moving closer to me and tilting his head to the side so he could see my face better.

i wasn't going to leave Tom for that. i just wanted him to understand how much he'd hurt me. never had i thought of breaking up with him.

"Gustav, do you know how a woman works?" i asked with a small smile. he gave me a confused look as if he didn't understand what this had to do with the situation.

"no, i don't think so..." he stammered, placing his glasses back on his nose. i took them from him to admire them from closer.

"a woman needs space to make herself understood, but she also needs the man in her life to guess what she wants" i said without taking my eyes off the glasses in my hands.
