"I'M LOOKIN' RIGHT AT THE OTHER HALF OF ME "
_
TOM'S POV:
"so you're telling me she shot her right between the eyes?" Bill laughed, obviously impressed that Jennifer could do such a thing. Georg and Gustav gave each other a knowing look.
"what? you don't believe me?" i asked, annoyed, taking a sip of my beer. the look on the others' faces was getting on my nerves.
i was really proud of Jenn for doing that without even hesitating and at the same time i was a little afraid of her. her evolution from a girl who only raced to a girl who killed without remorse was, well, scaring.
she was becoming like me.
"no, we believe you, it's just that...." Bill started hesitantly. he glanced at the others, pressing his lips together.
"we think you might be a bad influence on her..." Gustav continued, placing his glasses back on his nose. i arched an eyebrow at his sentence.
"i'm a bad influence on MY girlfriend?" i laughed nervously. Bill let out a long sigh, looking down at the bottom of his beer before looking back up at me.
"yes, Jenn never would have done this kind of thing before... it all started when you killed Fred when she was still standing here" he replied, seriously, standing up to me.
"don't blame this on me, Bill" i hated it when my brother talked to me like i was a stupid kid. "Brittany wanted to kill her, she had to act before it was too late"
i got up from my seat in a huff and tossed my beer on the table like it was nothing before storming out of the room. i hated being wrong and Bill was right. i was going to turn Jennifer into a monster.
i locked myself in my room, slamming the door again, and threw myself on my bed, staring at the ceiling, leaving myself alone with my thoughts. Jenn was wonderful, and I had no desire for her to become like me.
i turned slightly and picked up a framed photo of Jenn and me from my bedside table. her perfect face looked so innocent, her smile so sincere. Bill was right, I was a bad influence.
"fuck," i mumbled as i replaced the frame in its place.
the door to my room suddenly opened, revealing my twin brother's long, open stare. i rolled my eyes at the sight and sat up straight.
"never heard of knocking?" i growled. Bill rolled his eyes and plopped down beside me on my bed, playing with his newly done nails.
"you're not a bad influence, Tom. i'm just afraid for Jennifer to enter this world with us," he sighed, looking down at the floor. i smiled to myself seeing how Bill cared for my Jenn.
"i understand, but she's my girlfriend. she'll be involved whether she likes it or not" i put a hand on my brother's shoulder as he finally raised his face to me. he was full of concern for Jenn.
he gave me a half smile before stretching out on my bed with a long sigh. inimitated him and we stayed like that, staring at my ceiling without saying a word.
