"CAUSE YOU'RE ONE IN A MILLION
THERE AIN'T NO MAN LIKE YOU"___
Jennifer's POV:
I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm clock breaking my eardrums. I grunted and smacked my alarm clock before getting out of bed.
I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and observed my dark circles. That'll teach me to stay up so late when I had to work the next day.
I got ready as quickly as possible before heading downstairs to find my two brothers and my father in the kitchen, eating their breakfast.
"Hello everyone," I say as I enter the kitchen.
"Hello beautiful." my father says as he kisses me on the temple.
I then walked over to the two brothers who were eating, one next to the other, and placed myself between them to give them a shared hug.
"Hurry up, Jenn, you're on in 30 minutes," my father said as he left the kitchen.
I walked over to the cereal box and poured some into a bowl before sitting down opposite my brothers. This morning, it was James and I who were working, and this afternoon it would be my brothers' turn, so I hurried to eat.
"Is it true then? Are you going to race tonight?" Oliver says to me, breaking the silence.
I glared at John for telling Oliver about the race before turning back to my little brother.
"You're both big ass snitches. And yes, I'm going to race tonight," I said unpleasantly.
I left the table, glowering at them one last time before heading for the garage.
I put on my name badge and headed for the counter, waiting for customers.
James arrived, twenty minutes late. He also looked tired.
"Good morning, dickhead. Do you know what time it is?" I said as he stepped behind the counter to kiss me on the forehead.
"Sorry honey, my alarm didn't go off," he said as he redirected himself to the back, where the cars to be repaired were.
"Are you going to leave me alone at the counter?" I asked with a pout.
"I'm the muscle and you're the face of this garage," he said, winking at me before disappearing.
I sighed as I looked at the front door, desperate to finally see a customer's face. The garage was well known, but as it was morning, the racers, who were a big part of our clients, only came in the afternoon.
I turned my head to see what was going on in the back. I could see James and my father, both working on the same car.
At last, the front door bell rang and I saw a face I'd never expected to see.
Tom's twin brother entered, and as soon as he saw my face, he smiled. Not a fake smile, a real smile.
"This has to be a fucking joke," I muttered before he approached the counter.
