"BUT THE ONLY REASON THEY WANT TO MEET ME IS JUST TO SAY THEY FUCKING MET ME"

___

Jennifer's POV:

I was about to head for James's car when I saw my big brother, John, chatting with two girls who were drooling over him.

I made my way over to him and when he saw me, he pretended to call out to the girls before separating from them.

"The fuck you doing here, John?" I said, very annoyed.

John also liked to race, and he was good at it, so in truth I might have found it normal for him to be here, but I knew something was wrong.

"Oliver told me you were going out with James, I wanted to keep an eye on my little sister, that's all." he said, holding up his hands as if to show he was innocent.

I rolled my eyes before turning on my heels in the direction of James's car.

"Is this for today or tomorrow?" shouted Tom in my direction, to which I replied with a fake smile and a middle finger.

James, who was leaning against his car, opened my door for me before making his way to the driver's seat.

I looked out the window at the other cars lining up beside us. There was a little blond guy in one of the cars who I hadn't met yet, otherwise everyone was there.

I glanced at Tom's car, which was magnificent. I looked back at Tom, who was staring at me through his sunglasses with a satisfied smile. Beside him, I could see Brittany glowering at me.

"I do believe Tom has a crush on you," James said through clenched teeth.

I turned to look at him, he looked angry, which was good for the race, he'd have even more will to beat Tom.

"Show him he's on our territory," I say, which immediately softens James's expression.

Chloe headed for the middle of the runway with a flag.

"Are y'all ready?" she shouted, to which we all responded with "yes".

"Ready, set, GO!"

All engines started instantly. Immediately we were in competition with Tom, who was dangerously close to us.

I glanced in the rear-view mirror and saw that the others wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Tom was driving at about the same speed as us, so I focused my attention on him. He turned his head towards me and I kept looking at him with a smile. He was no longer looking at the road, which was very very very dangerous but at the same time, so attractive.
