"FUCK IT, I'M PRETTY STILL IN A PIT OF SNAKES,
WHILE SERPENTS SOME BRAND NEW SCALES"

__

Jennifer's POV:

The race was about to begin and I entered alongside the handsome and mysterious Fred.

I glanced out the window to see what Tom was doing and caught him glaring at me. Brittany was doing the same, stroking Tom's leg.

I rolled my eyes and refocused on Fred, who was smiling at me.

"I think I've upset your boyfriend," he says with a smile that would make any chick fall.

"He's not my boyfriend," I replied, not quite sure of myself.

"Good to know." he says, casting his gaze to the road ahead with a smirk.

A redheaded girl stood between the two cars with flags, and Fred and Tom concentrated on what was going on ahead.

I bit my lower lip, seeing Tom with Brittany made me want to slap him awake. It was me who should be at his side, not her.

"Ready? Set. Go!" the redhead yelled as she lowered her flags.

The two cars started off and were fairly close in speed.

Tom gave me occasional glances that I tried to avoid as much as possible, but just looking into his eyes made me want to jump out of the car and join him.

I could see that Tom was starting to overtake us, which wasn't good. I wanted him to pay, I wasn't going to lose this time.

"Fred, put your hand on my thigh," I said, trying to look discreet.

He frowned, looking confused, but eventually gave me a satisfied smile and put his hand on my thigh.

I glanced out of the window and saw Tom, looking broken down by the scene in Fred's car.

Rage invaded his face and he turned his steering wheel to hit us from the side.

I hit my head, quite hard, and Fred smashed into his steering wheel.

We looked at each other, shocked by what had just happened. Fred actually looked more worried about me.

"Are you okay, Jennifer?" he shouted, trying to redirect himself on the track.

"I'm going to kill him," I mumbled, clinging to the car door.

I glanced out the window to see Tom, who widened his eyes when he saw my face. What's up with that face they all make?

I felt a warm liquid run down the side of my cheek and wiped it away, looking at the blood on my finger.

I tried to get a small mirror out of my bag to look at myself and see that I had blood on the side where I'd hit my head.

"Don't panic, Jennifer, I'll take care of it." Fred tried to reassure me.

I turned my head towards Tom's car and looked at him, shocked that he'd dared to put me in danger and made me bleed from the head.
