Camelot had been on fire for the past three days, the Great Dragon had been released and was causing havoc on the castle. Coventina barely had time to think about Morgana right now, she was focused on keeping on the knights and citizens alive. She carefully bandaged a burn on Sir Ewan's hand.

"I don't think people can suffer a third night of this." Gwen said, looking to Gaius.

"We must trust in Arthur." Gaius said.

"I do. But even he has little chance." Gwen said, turning to look toward the burnt battleground.

Gwen took notice of the empty water buckets, no fresh water to wash and clean or drink. "We've no clean water left."

"I know, but it's too dangerous to go out there." Gaius said softly.

Gwen headed for the square, as Gaius called after. Coventina watched from the window as people fled the town square, drawing water from the well. The dragon circled from above them. the dragon turned to head Gwen, as Arthur drove dragging her down with them avoiding the action. The two of them ran for cover.

Coventina bowed as Arthur entered, a wound on his shoulder. Coventina moved so Gwen could tend to his wounds, cleaning another knight's wound, and smiled at the pair of Arthur and Gwen.

"Maybe I am not only the one in Camelot who loves someone who is part of the royal family." She thought.

The following morning Coventina sat on the bed in Gaius's chambers, she had been spending the last three days in the rooms, wanting to learn more about healing with magic, and through medicine. Gaius offered to teach her about the audience after the Great Dragon was defeated. Merlin was packing for his trip, and Coventina still felt anger towards him, especially if Morgana was dead.

"Who were the dragonlords? Gaius?" Merlin asked.

Coventina looked up from the book she was reading noticing that Gaius was pacing, Merlin pulled him out of it.

"There were once men who could talk to the dragons, tame them." Gaius said.

"What happened to them?" Merlin questioned.

"Uther believed that the art of the dragonlord was too close to magic. So he had them all rounded up and slaughtered." Gaius explained.

"But one survived. How did you know?" Merlin questioned.

"I helped him escape," Gaius confessed.

Merlin gave Gaius a look, "Gaius."

"Merlin, you've never heard the name Balinor?"

Merlin shook his head, "No." he said.

Gaius raised an eyebrow at Merlin's answers, "Your mother never mentioned him?" He questioned.

"My mother?" Merlin questioned.

"She took him in." Gaius explained.

Merlin looked a bit shocked about his mother's actions, "She stood up against Uther?" He questioned

Gaius nodded, "Yes."

Merlin seemed proud of his mother's actions before he was born, "She was brave."

"Yes. When Uther discovered where Balinor was, he sent knights to Ealdor to hunt him down. He was forced to flee." Gaius explained.

"Why didn't my mother tell me any of this?" Merlin questioned.

Gaius sighed, "Merlin, I promised her I would never speak of these things."

"Of what?" Merlin questioned pushing for the truth about who the last dragonlord is.
