"You see," she begins, her voice monotone, "There have been some seedy looking people loitering in the back alley of my company's building."

"Can you give us more details?" Tanizaki politely asks.

Her eyes look distressed as she responds, "They wear old and tattered clothes and some of them speak in a foreign language that none of us can identify."

The door slams open as Kunikida steps out, Dazai reaching out for help.

"I swear, why do you guys keep him around if his partner can't even stand him, he seems to lack purpose," said Higuchi.

"Dazai is a genius, moreover sometimes it is best if he sits like the Great detective." came from Mori. "Can't always be playing your trump cards."

"Yes, sorry sir...I was unawar-" Higuchi questioned.

"No captain can do very wrong if he places his ship alongside that of the enemy." said Mori.

"Horatio Nelson, The Nelson touch. 'There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow men. True nobility lies in being superior to your former self.'" Dazai quoted.

"Ernest Hemingway."  Mori smiled, one that was only for Dazai. 'Is that it...' The doctor turned to the screen pounder, something that no one but Dazai could grasp.

Dazai turned away from the man. The days of sitting in Mori's office as they went back and forth on various topics. He didn't want to go back to that time. He could never go back to that time.

She trails off, Kunikida filing in the silence, "You want us to get the evidence for you."

He looks at Atsushi, "Hey, kid. You go."

Atsushi freaks out, "WHAT?"

"Relax," Kunikida says calmly, "It'll be a simple stake-out, Smugglers are rarely violent, just keep watch if they try to make a break for it. It's the perfect first job for you."

"Yes, a very perfect trap." said Kunikida, almost chastising his past self. He then began to write something in his journal.

"Yea, but.."

Kunikida doesn't let him finish, "Junichirou will go with you."

Atsushi looked down; it was his fault they got so injured. If he–if he just shut up and went by himself, none of them would have got so badly injured and almost killed.

Naomi gives her brother a massive hug, "If he's going then I will too!"

The scene cuts to Atsushi packing a small bag of evidence-gathering equipment for the trip. A card popped up next to him that read, "Rookie Detective Nervous about his first job: Nakajima Atsushi."

"Hey, kid." Kunikida cuts into Atsushi's thoughts. Next to him was Dazai resting with his headphones on, "Did you think I would leave you high and dry, like that? I have some advice for you."

He holds out a photo, "Look here. Memorize this photo and take it with you."

"Trust me, Kunikida, I will never forget him." Atsushi said, with a surprising amount of venom. Under his breath, he said, "or forgive, never."

Dazai eyed the weretiger. His other apprentice chimes in.

"If you were to forget weretiger I would happily remind you of who I am before your death." Akutagawa retroit, letting out a cough.

Atsushi glared at the mafia member.

"Beware of this man," Kunikida advises, "If you see him, run."
