Owen

Pain lashed across my body as my Mistress punished me. My mind felt hazy as I fought to remember something, someone...

A voice that seemed familiar boomed, "Stop!" and then I heard Mistress say, "M...Morpheus."

A soft hand touched my arm, "Little human," I croaked as her face came into focus. "You didn't leave me. I...I couldn't feel you anymore." Her eyes filled with tears. Wait, her eyes looked so different. My chains broke and she cradled me in her embrace as we slid to the floor. My arm felt heavy as I stroked her cheek. "So beautiful."

"Listen to my words Owen Blackbourne, my husband, mo chroí. Come back to me," she placed my hand against her stomach, "Come back to your son." Her tears dropped onto my face as I felt the stirrings of the child in her womb. "Remember," she whispered and pressed her lips to mine as swirls of black smoke surrounded us.

Sang

"No, it can't be," I gasped as I watched that bitch kiss Owen. Not only was she pregnant, but she possessed shadow magic. I felt a piercing pain in my chest and knew it was my link to Owen being severed.

"Not quite what you expected, is it, Sang?" Morpheus laughed. I howled with rage and lunged for him only to feel a fiery pain envelop me as he raised a single hand. "Do you remember what I told you? I warned you, yet still, you let your madness drive your actions." He walked closer to me as I writhed in pain from the invisible flames.

"Erebus will kill all of you and take her again. Those shadows will bind her to him," I laughed as I cringed. He simply smiled and turned to look at Owen and Eveleen. Owen's eyes were once again molten grey as he cradled her face in his hands. Even in his demonic form, his love for her was evident and I screamed again. "I will kill all of you!"

Morpheus laughed and I felt that numbing hollow sensation again. "Oh, Sangarida, you won't be doing anything. Now, I think someone else wants a chance to visit with you." I watched as his demeanor shifted, his eyes lighter and his body straightened.

"Sean?" I squeaked, "Please, please Sean, help me. I promise I can change," I begged, but he just looked at me.

Stepping closer he put his mouth near my face, "Oh Pookie, you have been a very bad girl." Despite the old nickname, his words made me cringe. "You took my light and my love from me. You hurt them and I simply cannot allow that to go unpunished." He stroked my cheek and wiped the tears that now fell from my eyes. "You've caused so much suffering, Sang, but I understand it was born of your own suffering, and for that reason, I will set you free. I will cleanse you of your hurt, your hatred. What was it you told Owen? Oh yes, I'd say this won't hurt, but I'd be lying." He pressed a chaste kiss to my forehead and muttered, "Goodbye Sang. May you find peace in the next life."

His hands cupped my face and began to glow until we were both engulfed in a blinding white light that tore through my body until I felt like I was on fire and then nothingness.

Eveleen

Owen's grey eyes looked up at me and blinked, "Eveleen?"

"Yes, mo chroí," I said softly, kissing his lips again. "Can you stand?"

He nodded and with my help, stood leaning heavily against the wall for support. Sang's scream drew our attention to the center of the room. I gasped as I watched Sean kiss her forehead and whisper something to her just before the two of them were engulfed in a blinding white light. Owen and I shielded our eyes from the blast. When the light faded, they were both gone. He let out a groan, "No, please no."

"Owen, listen to me," I said, putting my arm under him for support. "We need to leave now. I need you to trust that he will come back to us. There is much you don't know yet. He promised he would come back, and we have to hold onto that promise now." I turned his head to look at me, "Can you do that for me, mo chroí?" He nodded and I smiled, "Now, close your eyes and take a deep breath. We are going on a little trip."
