"We have to time this perfectly," Loki explained. "When Erebus comes to her, North has to immediately attack Kaylie. We can't give her the opportunity to pull him out of Demios's shell.
"How will we know, especially if he comes in her sleep like Deimos did?" I asked. "Can you monitor her dreams or will he be able to sense it?" I looked at Morpheus who was frowning.
"I can't linger in her dreams. He would be able to sense me. However, we can create an alarm system of sorts. I think Owen's magic will be perfect for a signal if anyone enters her dreams." He answered.
Gabe instantly stiffened, "Wait, wouldn't my magic be stronger?"
"Perhaps, but you and Michael have to accompany North," Odin said.
"What the hell? Absolutely not! My children are not getting dragged into this mess, old man!" Luna shouted, jumping to her feet.
"Mom," Michael groaned. "I'm not a kid and I'm supposed to be there. Ask Papa Sean and Dada Corey, they both had the same vision."
Her head snapped toward them as they visibly shrank. "What vision?"
"Dreamgirl, just calm down. You know how it works, we can't tell everything, but we know that both Michael and Gabe have to go with North. Something is going to try and interfere. Their powers are the ones he will need to stay safe and bring home Brandon." He wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled her neck, letting his fangs extend and graze her skin. "We can't keep them in a bubble, my love. His father will keep him safe."
Her shoulders dropped as she sighed, "Fine, but I'm kicking all of your asses if he has a single scratch on him. That goes for you as well old man," she shook her finger at Odin who blanched.
"Is she always this violent?" he muttered.
"It's the hormones. Valkyrie has two settings in pregnancy - horney and hostile. Hell, sometimes they overlap," Nate snickered then yelped as she smacked the back of his head magically. "Sorry, baby," he muttered an apology. We all chuckled softly until she shot a warning glare then bit down our own laughter.
I don't know if it was the stress of the battle with Erebus looming or knowing Deimos wouldn't be alive to see his child born, but she was far more stressed with this pregnancy than any other. She suffered from horrible nightmares and often woke either screaming or crying. Even Morpheus couldn't see the dreams, which bothered all of us greatly. All of the patrons had moved into Fairie for the time being in an effort to help no matter how.
Luna rubbed her slightly swollen stomach. Despite only being a few weeks along, she looked much farther. Sean wondered if Deimos's demon nature played a role or if Luna was doing it herself not even realizing it. Either way, Loki had given her a spell to conceal it in her sleep to keep Erebus unaware.
"Come, Tesoro, let's get you to bed," Owen said, taking her by the arm. "A nap will do you good." She muttered and leaned into his body as he led her down the hall. He's coming, was all Owen said and we all went into battle mode.
Author's Notes: Heads up, the next couple of chapters will technically be happening at the same time due to the timing needs that Loki mentioned.
