North

I opened my eyes to see our old room in Charleston. Brandon was looking around in complete confusion. "Still beautiful," I breathed as he spun around.

His voice cracked, "N...North, but how?"

I crossed the room in only a couple of strides and crushed him to me, kissing him until we were both panting. "Morpheus," I muttered as my lips trailed down his neck. "Giving Queen and Deimos a chance to say goodbye." I stopped and met his eyes, "We can't save him, baby. Not even Morpheus can see a way." I could see the conflict in his eyes.

"Can't he be in here somehow until we find a way?" he asked, pointing to his head.

I shook my head, "We already thought of that. The moment Queen kills Erebus, Deimos is a soul without a body, and you won't be a hollow anymore. It just won't work."

His shoulders slumped and he leaned into my arms. "I know I should hate the guy, but he really does love her. He's been trying to help save us since Erebus went nuts."

"I know, baby. Morpheus told us what he said to her about how to save you and defeat Erebus. Hell, even Victor who despises the man is bothered we can't do anything. It was Luke's idea to give them time to say goodbye. I just get the perk of keeping you occupied as well," I smirked.

He gave me a cheeky grin, "Hmmm...so how did you plan on keeping me occupied, husband?"

Unbuckling his pants, I knelt before him. "I can think of a few ways," I growled, then took his length into my mouth as he moaned loudly.

Morpheus

She was kneeling on the grass, crying softly. "Little star," I said softly. Her eyes met mine and I fell to my knees pulling her close. "I'm so sorry," I mumbled as I kissed her hair. I felt helpless. All these years I've watched, been forced to stand by and see her pain and suffering. Before I was separate, but now...now, I could feel her agony, her heartbreak in the connection. I could also feel that she had fully bonded to him and that scared me. Sure Deimos had mimicked the severing of bonds for them, but what will happen when the bond really dies?

"How am I still here, but he isn't?" she hiccupped.

"I wanted to give you a minute to gather yourself and bring you back gently. I'm sorry if I shouldn't have," I said. I looked around and smiled, "You brought him to the grove."

"What do you mean I did? I wasn't even awake," she snorted.

"I gave you the way, but you chose the destination, Eveleen. This space means something to you in your deepest core. This is your place to feel safe and rejuvenate. It's where you brought your Destined One. It's where you conceived your first child." Her eyes widened as her hand flew to her stomach. Fresh tears sprang to her eyes. "Just breathe, little star," I told her. "All things happen for a reason, even this."

"He...he can't die and not even know," she sobbed and clung to me.

"I have a suggestion and only you can make the decision," I told her. "If you will permit, I will stay with him until the end. My abilities allow me a bit more flexibility on where I can travel. If you agree, when the time comes, I will go to him. I will also tell him of the child you now carry - of his child." I ran my hand down her cheek, wiping away her tears. "You are the strongest soul I've ever encountered, Eveleen. I am in awe of you daily. Since the light first formed, you have resisted all attempts to tarnish and break you. I don't know how, but I do know if there is a way to save him - no matter how slim, you will find it."

She nodded and pressed against my chest as my arms encircled her. "Yes, please. I can't bear the thought of him being alone when...when..." she sobbed, unable to finish the sentence.

"I know, love," I whispered. "We should return now. I can feel the others getting anxious."

She giggled, "You mean you can feel Owen and Sean getting nervous." She booped my nose, "Just bond with them already, silly."

My cheeks flushed, "I...I don't know if they want that with me. They've been together for so long. I don't want to make it awkward."

She snorted, "You three have put your dicks in every hole imaginable, and you're worried about being awkward." She rolled her eyes as my hand cracked on her ass and she yelped. "Quick study," she muttered as I let out a wholehearted laugh then took us home.
