Ira
When Ahaan told me the idea about our marriage blanc, I didn't like it but as he proceeded to tell all the pros of getting married together I actually gave the suggestion , a thought. My parents would get what they want from this marriage, their business to grow. His parents wouldn't be hurt. There would be no expectations from me as a wife and how much I had known him by now, he wouldn't harm my virtue. I would still be able to practice as a surgeon and his family wasn't bad. I had been going there on a round atleast once, daily, for five days and they were really welcoming. They were sweet and always seemed happy. Most importantly they paid importance to my choice, which my family never did. Other than his bhabhi, his mother and bua(aunt) too politely made it very clear that there was no pressure from there side on me to say yes. Even if they were horrible, they couldn't be worse than my family.
During there stay at the hospital I had met every member of his family. Actually seen every member of his family. Other than an actual sibling, he had a cousin too, Karan, who probably was Reet's brother. His chachu was some what mischievous and always cracking jokes while his bua was a little firm but she seemed a nice woman. His grandparents were quite relaxed and just seeing them made me remember my nanu-nani. His chachi was kind of a gossip too other than a great lawyer. Both his mother and his bhabhi were discharged from the hospital in a week and the very next day of their discharge we met at a near-by cafe. We discussed our living term again and came to the conclusion that for the next year we would live as friends did, as roommates did and stick to the terms of our deal. It would be easy, simple and uncomplicated. That day we went back home after our meet and told our families our decision. Actually he told his family his decision who then told my parents and they told me, because my opinion didn't matter.
Almost a month had passed to that. Today, the Jindals were hosting a mask party to announce the birth of their grandchild and our marriage. Me and Ahaan hadn't spoken a word to each other since our encounter in the parking lot except for a message that he sent me to invite Vaani to the part too, for some unknown reason. I didn't have anything to wear for that so, I had gone shopping with Vaani, Muskaan and dad's card yesterday, because he wanted me to match Jindal's standards, which obviously I couldn't afford.
"Trust me you will look stunning when you wear this." Muskaan said while settling me down on the vanity stool. We are all at my house from where Veer was supposed to pick us up and then go to the party together, while mom and dad reached their seperately. The party was being held at their residence. The Jindals lived in a high rise building whose first seven floors comprised their office while the rest four floors was their residence. Behind this building was the garden where the party was being held.
"This is out of my comfort!" I complained. The gown was beautiful but it wasn't something I would've chosen for myself.
"Shutup! Your comfort equals to a sweatshirt and pajamas." Vaani said sitting beside me and I sadly pouted. She had already done all her make-up and hair. She just had to put on her dress.
"Exactly now relax and let us get you ready." with that Muskaan started doing my makeup and Vaani started with my hair. My outfit had a deep back so it wouldn't ruin my hair when I'd wear it.
Almost 2 hours later I stand there infront of the mirror adorned in a pure white satin gown that perfectly hugged my curves. It had noodle straps with sweetheart neckline and the neckline was adorned with beautiful white stones. The thigh high slit had a sheer net adorned with white stones, linning my right leg. My hair was parted in the mid and designed in soft curls and left open. I wore a dangling silver and white stone earring, one ring and a silver-white stilleto. My makeup was light and shimmery nude, just highlighting my eyes with kohl and maskara.
