Another Love

1 Beginning

Growing up with a mother who is a perfectionist, and is always stressed out and disappointed when something goes out of her control and I, her child, doesn't do what she wants or plans for me to do, you can already guess that my sanity can't keep up with her so one day, I woke up, decided that I don't want to continue making myself unhappy and move with my best friend Lei and leaving my mother to finally live by herself as she keeps on saying if only she went to Law school, she wouldn't have met my father and had me.

I am currently chilling in my room, scrolling through my fyp on TikTok when I scrolled to a video about an F1 driver being seen with a new girl just months after his breakup with his ex and her new girl looking a lot like his ex, the caption caught my attention so I watched the entire video even though I was not an F1 fan though I watch the races from time to time.

After I finished watching the video, all I could say was:
"Damn! She does look like her!"

Can't say I blame his new girl tho, with that face and his dimples, oh lord, even I would say yes to dating him even though I know he literally just got out of a 2-year relationship and might just be using me.

I got hooked to the gossip that I looked at the tags and found out that the driver's name was Charles Leclerc and that he was driving for the team that I would always cheer for when I watched the races even though I do not even know the names of the drivers because honestly, the only driver I know the name of is Sir Lewis Hamilton and I don't even cheer for Mercedes when I watch. There's just something about Ferrari that draws me to it.

Being a KPOP fan, watching Korean dramas, Chinese dramas, Turkish dramas, Marvel movies, scrolling through TikTok or Instagram, and reading books, I could not find it in me to take in another hobby or interest so after knowing his name from the tags, I kept scrolling through TikTok until I got bored and dropped my phone just in time for me to supposedly get ready to go and attend my class but I felt lazy so I decided to not attend my class which I've been doing for 2-weeks now and just read a book on Kindle.

Time passed by while I was reading and I only noticed that it was already late in the afternoon when Lei came home.

"Didn't you have class today? You look like you haven't gotten up from your bed since I left this morning." Lei asked.

"Nah. I was feeling lazy."

"You can't keep doing that you know. What do you plan on doing? You should've just withdrawn your classes before the exams last week so you won't need to pay for the tuition this summer."

"Mom paid the full tuition for this summer, her loss. I received a million from her the day after I left her to live her life to the fullest with a note 'To my dearest daughter, I hope you will live your life the way you want to with this money as this will be the last one that I will be sending. Let's not contact each other again.' so I'm living my life how I want to. Though I already plan on taking the Chemical Technician Licensure examination after this semester and just apply for work. But you, my friend, are graduating, what do you want as a gift?"

"Be my business partner?"

I looked at her shocked.

"You're opening your own business right after you graduate?"

"No. I mean, Yes, but not now. I'm gonna still be working in my family's firm as an Architect after I graduate since I already got my license, but, I still want to open my own gallery, you know and I want you to be my business partner for that."

"Ohhh. Wait for me to find work then before planning so I would have money to contribute to that and not just be a business partner on paper."

"About that, my dad asked me at work today about you being a Chemical Engineering student and asked if you already have a license as a Chemical Technician because you're eligible to take that since last year but you did not and he may have mentioned that his friend who works for Shell is looking for an RCh to head their team that will be travelling with the Ferrari F1 team and my dad said he mentioned you to his friend but said he's not sure if you have the license so he'll inform him after I talk to you."
