I stood up just as Charles's car went out of control and crashed into the barrier with the back of his car catching fire almost immediately.

I was looking at the tv in shock as Lei was trying to talk to me but I just kept shaking my head and saying "No, please no. Get him out please."

I saw George's car stop just a few meters at the top of Eau Rouge and Lewis who was following the two also stopped just below Eau Rouge.

They both jumped out of their cars and ran towards Charles's car before George ripped the safety cover on top of the cockpit and removed the steering wheel before Lewis lifted Charles as best as he could just in time for the Marshals to arrive and help him get Charles out as the 3 of them started extinguishing the fire.

When I saw Charles laid down in a stretcher, not moving, my legs gave up and I collapsed on the sofa while covering my face with my hands as tears kept streaming down my face.

I didn't even realize that Lei left the room and was only made aware when she came out from the bedroom, wheeling out both our luggages and giving me a hoodie and a pair of socks and shoes before telling me that she called her dad to tell him the situation and her dad was able to book us a private jet so we needed to get down, checkout and head to the airport immediately.

Pierre called me on my phone but I was not in the right state of mind so Lei was the one who answered it and told him that we are on our way to the airport as they exchanged other details.

We arrived at the airport 15 minutes later and got on the jet which immediately took off as soon as everything was set.

The flight took about 10 hours as soon as we got off the jet, a car was waiting for us as Lewis and Lando stood against it on the tarmac.

They both hugged me before Lewis guided me to the car and Lando helped Lei put our luggage in the trunk and they both got in and we headed to the hospital as they relayed the updates on Charles's condition saying that he had no serious injuries and he was already awake when the emergency unit wheeled him to the hospital but the doctors insisted on keeping him in the hospital for further observations.

They also said most of the drivers went back to the hotel after the doctor's visit to update all of them about the results of the test and only Charles's mom, brothers, Pierre, Max and them were left.

The 2 of them were about to head back also when Pierre asked them to come pick us up.

"Do you want to go to the hotel with them or come to the hospital with me? I know you're exhausted, Lei." I asked Lei as I saw her yawn.

"Are you sure you don't need me there?" She asked worriedly.

"I'll be fine. You heard them, he's fine. I just want to see him. You need to rest so you can deal with the shock of being surrounded by F1 drivers the next time you come see me." I said chuckling softly as we arrived at the hospital and what I said sunk into Lei's mind as she looked at the two drivers inside the car with her and I closed the door and waved at them as Lewis pulled out and drove to the hotel.

I walked inside the hospital and headed straight for the nurse's station and asked for Charles's room when one of the nurses recognized me and immediately blurted out his room and floor number which I thanked her for as I headed to the elevator and pressed the floor number as I entered.

I got out on the floor that the nurse told me and headed to the room number she mentioned.

I was about to knock on the door as I heard people talking when it opened and I came face-to-face with Max who looked at me from head to toe before pinching my cheeks and shouting.

"She's real. Damn!" Max shouted before turning to his left and looking at the other people in the room while pointing at me.

They all looked at me shocked except Pierre who chuckled and approached me and hugged me before pulling me inside the room as Max closed the door and followed me as I followed Pierre who led me near the hospital bed where Charles was sitting on propped up with pillows behind him.

I removed my hand from Pierre's grasp before moving to where Charles's brothers were and said "Hi" as I kissed them on the cheeks which they both responded with "I'm glad you're here" before I went to where Pascale was seated and kissed both her cheeks before she held my hand.

"You don't know how happy I am to see you here. Now that you're here, I can finally be rest assured and go with the suggestions of this boys to go back to the hotel and rest." She said with tears threatening to spill from her eyes but with a soft smile.

"Don't worry, la suocera. I shall take care of your son while you rest." I said with a light chuckle as the nickname I called Pascale confused them except the one on the hospital bed who understood it. "You all go ahead and rest, I know you're all tired as your bodies have adjusted to the clock here but mine hasn't so I'll be fine. I'll call when I can't handle it." They all grabbed their things and left after they said goodbye to both me and Charles.

I walked towards the bed and sat on the side and faced Charles as we both stared at each other before I broke the silence.

"Where's Charlotte?" I asked.

"I don't know, cherie, and I don't care." He said before he reached for my hand and held it in his. "I know I hurt you but please hear me out, mon amour." I just nodded at him and he started explaining what happened in Silverstone.
