Charles's POV

Alexandra and I just arrived at the paddock when Carlos called me and said I was needed in the meeting room in the motorhome so I told Alex to go straight to the garage or the hospitality before I made my way to the meeting room and opened the door and got in to see Mia and Stephania also there.

"Have you opened your Instagram?" Mia asked me without looking at me, still looking at her phone.

"No, why?" I asked as I sat down and Carlos passed his phone to me and showing on the screen was a post made by @F1News which was a collage of 4 photos, two of which were photos of me and Elise, one from the Gala and the other being the photo she posted on her story while the other 2 were photos of me leaving the hotel in Vegas with Alex this morning while I was holding her hand, and a caption which read.

"@Charles_Leclerc seen with her new girl, @AlexandraMleux, leaving the hotel hand in hand while only yesterday, he attended the Gala in Italy with @CassandraEliSmith. Which one is the real deal?"

"You just tarnished Cassandra's reputation. Great job. You should read the comments while you're at it to see the damage she is getting." Mia sarcastically said while still typing on her phone.

I frowned then grabbed my phone and was about to post something when Mia spoke again before sighing.

"If you're thinking of posting something or what to clear things up, you don't need to. She just slammed everyone's speculations with one post."

I went on Elise's account to see her post and I contemplated whether to press the heart button but decided against it and just closed my Instagram and stood up as I saw that it was almost time for a scheduled interview so we all headed out.

Throughout the day I couln't keep what Mia said out of my head about me tarnishing Elise's reputation. I told her I wouldn't do that to her in the garage when I asked her to be my date for the Gala and yet it is exactly what I had done.

I sent a DM to Elise's Instagram while Alex and I walked towards my car in the parking lot.

'Hey. I'm sorry I dragged you to the spotlight and caused misconceptions about you.'

Elise: 'Yeah. It's fine tho I think it's better that I'm not seen with you in public again since your girlfriend might misunderstand. Please do tell her that I'm sorry for the inconvenience that the article brought her.'

I was shocked by her reply but agreed to what she said not because Alex might misunderstand because she knows her place in my life and she is not my girlfriend but because it's not Alex who was inconvenienced by what I had done, it was her who received more criticism.
