8 Shattered Expectations

I woke up this morning feeling groggy and not feeling like moving at all so I sent a message to Luca saying I would be staying in for the morning and will be going to the factory in the afternoon, to which he replied saying they aren't expecting me at the factory today since they all saw my photos with Charles at the Gala last night and that will be considered as working over-time and since they can't pay me over-time fees, they will accredit it and give me a day-off.

This made me laugh and I decided to go back to sleep so I put my phone on airplane mode before going back to sleep.

I just woke up again to the sound of knocks on my apartment door so I went and opened it to see the receptionist at the lobby of the building holding a package and telling me that it was sent for me so I grabbed it and thanked her.

I placed the package on the table before I looked at the time and saw that it was almost lunch time so I got up and went to take a bath before going to the kitchen and deciding to prepare a breakfast meal for my lunch so I got the bacon and egg from the fridge and the bread and the Nutella from the pantry.

I cooked the bacon and egg while I decided whether I was gonna toast my bread or just spread Nutella on it, and I decided on the latter just as I put the cooked bacon and egg on a plate and spread Nutella on 2 pieces of bread before putting ice cubes on my Starbucks flask and filling it with cold coffee brew and heading to the living room with the plate and the flask.

I first grabbed the package and saw that it has a card where there was a message which said 'To our genius Chemist who now heads the 2 teams of chemists under both Ferrari and Shell, my deepest apologies for not being able to introduce you to our partners last night. I shall introduce you at the next Gala to our partners so you will get to be acquainted with them.' it was signed with Benedetto's name at the bottom so I opened it to find my Ferrari ID together with a Ferrari car miniature without a number placed on a glass case and a Ferrari car key.

I placed all of it on the table neatly together with the card and I went to grab my phone and took a photo of everything.

I then dropped my phone on the couch and pushed the throw blankets to the side and turned the tv on to watch the rest of the episodes of The Witcher as I ate and only put what I was watching on pause when I finished eating, to put everything I used in the dishwasher and pressing play as I ignored the continuous pings of my phone which was muffled by the throw blankets that I put aside when I sat after I dropped my phone on the couch.

It was around 7 pm when I finished watching all the episode in the entire 2nd season of The Witcher so I stood up and stretched as I looked for my phone and saw 13 messages, and a whole lot of Instagram notifications.

I first opened the messages to see that they the 10 were from Lei asking me what is going on between me and Charles and telling me to answer my phone so I just replied that there's nothing going on, and the other 3 were from Isa who told me to check Instagram on her first message, then said not to on her second message and then to call her on her last message.

I opened my Instagram to see what were the notifications about.

The oldest ones were the notifications from my Instagram story last night and the latest were from a post made by @F1News which I was tagged in so I clicked on the post to see a collage of 4 photos, two of which were photos of me and Charles last night while the other 2 were photos of Charles leaving a hotel in Brazil with a girl while he was holding her hand, and a caption which read.

"@Charles_Leclerc seen with her new girl, @AlexandraMleux, leaving the hotel hand in hand while only yesterday, he attended the Gala in Italy with @CassandraEliSmith. Which one is the real deal?"

The comments were flooded as fans kept commenting on the post and my Instagram was being spammed with dms from people I don't know.

I shared the Instagram post as a message to Lei and muted the notifications for the post and pulled up a photo of my tv showing Henry Cavill topless and put the line '@HenryCavill making every girl say daddy to a freakin' screen.' before posting it on my Instagram story and putting my phone on silent before I got up, made a small home made pizza with the dough that I made last Sunday and ate it as my dinner before going to brush my teeth and heading to bed, checking my emails in my iPad and getting an idea to shut down the rumors.

I opened my Instagram and went on to post the photo of the contents of the package that Benedetto sent to me, with card he wrote at the center of the photo, where the words can be seen clearly in the photo, with the caption

"If your CEO is not as sweet as this even though you've already been on the job for years now, you should ask yourself if you love your jobs (Just Kidding), because I have only been on the job for a little over a week and this is what I get. Thank you @Scuderia_Ferrari @Ferrari."
