Another Love

Epilogue

"Look at your papà, love. He just won his 2nd Championship trophy." I said hyping up our smiling 6-month old son, Harry Jules Zander Hervé Leclerc, as I stood below the podium with the Ferrari crew and Charles's family, while holding him, looking up at Charles on the podium as he lifted his 2nd WDC trophy.

I walked towards the Ferrari hospitality after the podium, while holding our son with Pascale, Arthur and Lorenzo, to wait for Charles to finish up his media duties and the like.

Zander was playing with his grandma and uncles while Benedetto pulled me along to chat with some partner respresentatives.

Benedetto and the others were wrapped up in a conversation when I saw Charles walk into the hospitality heading straight for our table and carrying our son as he greeted his mother and brothers.

Charles carrying our son made me think of the time when I was still pregnant and Charles had to leave for his training for the new season.

*Flashback*

Charles just left with Andrea for the 3 days winter training in the Dolomites.

I'm now having dinner with his family along with Carla and Lei, who Charles called to keep me company while also helping Lando shorten the distance for their slow progressed make up after their fight and long silence.

We were chatting while eating dessert when my phone rang and I told the others that it was Charles calling on FaceTime so they just nodded and continued with their conversation.

"Ciao, Bella. Come state tu e il nostro bambino?"
(Hello, beautiful. How are you and our baby?)

"Stiamo bene, amore mio. Lui si è comportato perché papà non è qui per istigarlo." I said smirking while eating the cheesecake I ordered for dessert which made him laugh.
(We're good, my love. He has been behaving since his papa is not here to instigate him.)

We then got quiet, just staring at each other through the phone for a minute or two before he sighed.

"È difficile stare lontano da te, sopratutto ora che sei a più Della metà Della gravidanza e avresti bisogno di aiuto per fare cose per le quali vorrei essere lì per aiutarti, ma eccomi qui a chilometri di distanza." He said while looking dejected.
(It's hard being away from you especially now that you're more than half way through your pregnancy and you would need help in doing things which I want to be there to help you for but here I am miles away.)

"Non ti prego, amore mio. Sto bene e staremo bene. Rimarremo forti e in salute mentre aspettiamo che tu ritorni dopo aver fatto tutto ciò che devi fare perché stai facendo qualcosa che è già diventato parte di te. Questo non significa che siamo solo un'altra scelta per te, questo significa che tutti i tuoi sogni, passione e amore possono coesistere se c'è equilibrio. In più, devi aver dimenticato che non sono solo tua moglie, ma anche un membro del team che ha messo insieme l'auto che guiderai, quindi preferirei che potenziassi la tua formazione perché so esattamente cosa il tuo corpo attraversa in ogni gara." I said with a small yawn at the end. Lei and Pascale saw me yawn so Lei asked for our bill.
(Don't please, my love. I am fine and we will be fine. We will stay strong and healthy while waiting for you to come back after doing whatever you have to do because you are doing something that has already become a part of you. This does not mean that we are just another choice for you, this means that all your dreams, passion and love can coexist if there is balance. Plus, you must've forgotten, I am not just your wife, but also a member of the team that put together the very car you're going to be driving, so I'd rather you push your training because I know just what your body goes through in every race.)

"Sai sempre cosa fare o dire per tranquillizzarmi, mia cara moglie. Dovresti già andare a casa, sembri assonnato." Charles said with a light chuckle. "Chiamami quando torni a casa, tesoro. Ti amo."
(You always know what to do or say to put my mind at ease, my dear wife. You should head home already, you look sleepy.)
(Call me when you get home, babe. I love you.)

"I will. I love you."
I said before I ended the call just as Lei finished paying the bill before we all headed out.

We said goodnight to the others before Lei and I got into my car. Lei drove both of us back to Charles and I's apartment.

I called Charles as I walked to our room after I said goodnight to Lei when we arrived home.

Charles and I talked for a while before I fell asleep in the middle.

I opened my eyes to find that Charles hadn't ended the call even after I slept last night as I looked at my phone to see his smiling face.

We said good morning and talked again for a short while before Andrea called for him so we said goodbye and I proceeded with my morning routine before I review the papers sent to me from the lab by Kat and from the factory by Luna.

Our days passed by like that until he returned from training and decided to stay in Monaco and drive to Maranello for simulator trainings and test runs before the season started.

*End of Flashback*

I was brought back from reminiscing when an arm wrapped around my waist and I looked to my side to see Charles with our son in his arms.

Charles kissed me on the forehead before letting go of me and shook hands with everyone while also introducing our son with a smile before putting his hand back on my waist as they congratulated him on the win.

We wrapped up the conversation and walked towards the doors leading to the paddock when I noticed that Pascale and his brothers were nowhere in sight.

My question was answered when Stephania appeared in front of us and gave a car key to Charles.

"Your mother and brothers are on their way there and so are the other drivers. Have fun." Stephania said while walking us out of the hospitality.

We headed to the villa that Charles asked Stephania to reserve for his celebration if he wins the title here in Brazil.

We walked in and were ushered to the back garden where the others were. All the drivers and some of their girlfriends who were here in Brazil and of course Charles's family were all here, seated along the long table set up for the celebration beside the pool.

They all stood up to greet us one by one before Lando decided to pop a champagne and luckily, Zander and I were at the other side so we were able to avoid the champagne.

Lewis took Zander when I greeted him before I took my seat in between him and Charles.

We dined, chatted, laughed and celebrated throughout dinner before calling it a night as this weekend was just the start of a triple header so the drivers were not keen on drinking and partying all night when they only had one day to rest before they are expected to fly out for their schedules.
