Sarah's pov

I looked down at my hand and turned the metal band between my fingers.

"Sigh, why did he had to give such an expensive ring? I forgot to return it to him too. Now I'd have to meet him again," I grumbled to myself, walking on the paved path which led to the entrance of our uni.

I turned my head to a side as I heard shouting and screeches coming from the area of the parking lot and narrowed my eyes. Is someone fighting over there? I was about to go check when I heard some footsteps from behind.

"Good morning, love," the back side of my ears and neck tingled with the feathery touch of warm breathing against my cold skin.

I jumped out of my skin and was about to yell for help when he grabbed my mouth and said, "It's me, it's me. Don't scream."

He released me and I turned around quickly to look at him. "Are you a ghost or what?" I yelled. "I nearly got a heart attack." I put my hand on my heaving chest, heart pounding with fear.

He chuckled. "Sorry. I startled you."

"Yeah you should be. Now stand here and think about how to properly greet someone without creeping them out. Bye," I turned on my heels to go away.

"Hey wait," he walked up to me matching my fast pace which was deliberate to get away from him. But this dude, he can't even take the hint. He's walking with me when I certainly told him off.

"Which class do you have first?"

I frowned. Why does he want to know my class now?

"Oh come on, tell me," he said when I didn't reply to him and continued on my path.

"Please?"

I stopped and turned towards him, looking straight in his eyes, "Listen here Mr Maximilian Collins, I do not wish to be involved with a stranger in any type of conversations. So please, if you don't mind, will you leave me alone? I hope you don't take it as an offer but an order." I smiled at him as sweetly as I could and turned away. "Oh wait, one more thing," I inserted my hands in my pocket and pulled out the ring. Tossing it into his hands I said, "You should take care of your belongings."

I looked around me and as I caught the sight of two girls standing beside the lockers talking amongst themselves a delightful grin spread across my face on its own. I just love both of them so much. They even take care of me so well like I'm their child lol.

Last night when I reached home I was shocked to see them outside my apartment door. Apparently they were waiting there for almost two hours and they became worried when I didn't even picked their call. They hugged me and scolded me for not telling them where I was.

I didn't expect them to show up at my apartment so I had thought it was fine if I don't worry them about this whole fiancée mess. But they didn't stop pressing me for answers and I blame them for knowing exactly how to make me spill answers out of my mouth. So I ended up telling them everything but I was glad that they didn't rush to murder Max at that exact moment. They just comforted me before leaving quietly.

But as I reached closer to them I felt that something was wrong. Their worried expressions were pasted all over their faces.

"Hey guys," I patted both of them and they flinched at the same time. I looked between both of them. "What's wrong? Why're you so surprised to see me?"

They looked at each other and smiled glancing at me. "That's just because you came so suddenly," Cassie laughed.

I frowned. "You're not gonna tell me what's wrong?"
