Sarah's pov

"So," I started, "You did it just because you wanted to talk to me?" I asked the two nervous persons sitting in front of me like two little kids caught red handed doing monkey tricks while their mom was sleeping.

I'm so fucking fuming right now. How dare they make a lie out of something like this! My heart was in my throat with anxiety all the time since that call until I reached here.

To be honest, I was relaxed when I found out Cassie was just fine but I'm not gonna let them slide on this one. It's not something they should lie about.

Plus, now what would Max's mom think of me? She was worried too but when she found out that nothing happened, she just laughed it off and told my friends not to do this again. She left after that, promising me to meet again.

I don't even know why would someone wanna meet me when I hang out with morons like these two. I glared knives towards both of them.

"We-we didn't think you'd be so worried-"

"How can you not think about that?!" I asked. Unbelievable.

Goodness, why am I stuck with the stupidest people in the world!

I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.

"Sorry," they said looking down at their feets.

My eyes moved up to their faces and their sullen looks like withered flowers made me soften a bit. "Fine. I'll forgive you on one condition."

Their faces lit up and they asked, "Which condition?"

"Tell me what you were hiding from me earlier."

"T-that," Cassandra glanced over at Vivianne and Vivianne's face was devoid of any colour.

I raised my brows, "Are you gonna tell me or..."

"Okay okay we'll tell you," Viv finally said, "So the thing is..." she glanced at Cassie.

"The thing is that what happened should not have happened," Cassie completed her.

"Yeah, exactly, you know like some things which are not supposed to happen, does happen and results in things which should not have happened."

"Yes, like we did something like that."

"It was not exactly unintentional."

"But it wasn't intentional either."

"We're sorry too for what happened."

"But it's not like we can turn back time-"

"OKAY SHUT UP YOU TWO!" I shouted at them baffled at their confused ramblings. "Talk in human language so I can understand."

They nodded obediently.

"We-"

"We-"

"YOU WHAT?" My temper is at it's highest peak and if they don't tell me what the fuck they did this time, I swear I'm gonna explode-

"We mistakenly manhandled Max's friend and beat him up thinking that he was Max," Viv said in a single breath closing her eyes.

"Oh that's it...?" I sighed, leaning back and putting my hands on my head, relaxed that they didn't murder someone. But then my brain processed what she said, "Wait- you did what?"

"Hear us out, hear us out," Cass waved her hands in front of her defensively. "He was wearing the same cardigan Max wore when he came to the council meeting. He came out of Max's car too and we didn't see his face so I thought he was Max and then we threw the cloth on his head. I found out that he was not Max only after he pulled away the cloth from his face."
