Ben watched Maximilian with his arms crossed and narrowed eyes as he waited for him to make a move for almost half an hour now. "You know just standing there won't give her a telepathic signal that you're here and want to talk."

Max turned to him with a glare.

"What?" Ben raised a brow at him, "You have telepathic abilities?"

He rolled his eyes and turned to look back at her again. She had that disgusting expression on her face that looked like she's about to barf or something but even that looked cute to him.

"God! You're so intolerable," Ben muttered many curses at him but suddenly spotted Katherine among the crowd, "You know what bro? I think you aren't going to move in this eternity at least. So please excuse me, I've got to go to my girl too."

Max didn't even give him so much as a glance and continued to observe her.

The girl, whose name Max guessed was Richie, just went away making the funny expressions on Sarah's face go away too as she relaxed.

She started looking around randomly and accidentally made eye contact with him.

But she quickly averted her gaze to elsewhere and hid herself behind the hide of her two friends. What is he doing here? I thought he didn't like parties? She took a peek over Cassie's shoulder but quickly ducked low again when she found him still looking in her direction with that blank expression. Is he angry? She bit her nails. Maybe because I cursed at him yesterday, he is offended now?

Gasp. W-what if . . . What if he tells Vivianne and Cassandra what I've been hiding?

No no no no... That would be a disaster.

No! I can't let that happen!

"Ooh la laa~ looks like someone's staring," Vivianne cooed in a singsong voice and chuckled softly.

Cassie looked along her line of sight and understood at once. "Hmm..." she hummed as in deep thought, "Sarah, those babies you were talking about; I think you're gonna have them today." She said with a straight composed face but Vivianne had already started erupting in a loud laughter with a snort.

Sarah couldn't understand anything as she was busy hyperventilating what he would do now. He can destroy everything⎯everything I have.

Stupid Sarah, why did I have to curse him like that?

"Come on Sarieboo, don't be shy. You should make up with him already," Vivianne said as she propped herself on the bar table with her elbow.

"Yeah, go talk to him," Cassie adviced too but she just stared down at the counter trying not to panic.

"Sarah."

She heard her name being called in a deep masculine voice just behind her which made her gulp down the lump in her throat, by fear or something else, that she didn't know.

She turned around by keeping her eyes low and raised them very slowly at his level and blinked. Even the loud music was nothing compared to her heart going wild in her chest at the sight of his messy hairs and sharp jawbone.

"Would you like to. . . be with me tonight?"

Huh? What did he ask again?

She couldn't believe her ears and her eyes as she found no hint of anger and vengeance in those emerald ones. Except, it was so calm, so comforting that she somehow felt drawn towards them.

"Sarah?"

He asked again making her break her deep trance at his face and then only she found his outstretched hand which was meant for her to take.
