Sarah's pov
Ugh my life sucks.
I banged my head on the café table in front of me. What should I do now? I looked up at every advertisement, every flyers and even asked my neighbours if they knew any places where I can move but all in vain. I got nothing at last. It's just six days! What am I gonna do?!
I laid there lifeless for what felt like hours until Vivianne smacked the back of my head and I pushed away my bangs to look at her.
"Class is about to start, so we're going. Are you coming?" She was already standing up with books and stuff in her hands same as Cassandra, both ready to go after hanging out in their free time.
"Nah," I faced down again.
Vivianne tsk-tsked at my sluggishness and pointed out, "Don't you have any lectures to attend?"
I groaned and put my hand over my head. "I do but I don't wanna gooo."
Vivianne must have rolled her eyes at me judging by the silence. "Suit yourself."
She started going towards the exit door but suddenly an idea popped into my head and I jumped to my feets. I almost tripped over in the way but I finally caught up with them.
Huff huff
"Sudden motivation?" Viv raised a brow at my bent position, in order to catch my breath, and Cassie just shook her head.
I snapped, "Yeah something like that."
She shrugged and continued in her way and I had to run a few steps again to keep up with them. "Wait guys, I had something to ask you two," I said trying to grab on their attention. "Do you know any to-let apartments available for rent around here?"
Now I didn't only received the attention but surprised faces too which looked at me like I'm an ugly gorilla or something.
"To-let apartment? Why would you need that?" Cassie asked, obviously knowing that I already have a very nice apartment which was so hard to find to begin with. Plus, the rent there was the lowest all around the neighborhood.
"Actually," I racked my brain to make up an excuse but my stupid silly brain doesn't give me anything when I order it to. "There's a girl in my psychology class and she's in dire need of a place right now because the landlord of her previous apartment is asking for her to move out suddenly." I patted myself inwardly for my instant talent in making up excuses. "Poor girl. Shouldn't we help her?" I made a saddened face for extra effects.
They first looked somewhat suspicious but eventually the suspicious look faded away and they nodded.
Hoohoo Sarah, keep it up.
"So?" I jumped in front of them with an excited spring. "You know any suitable places?"
"Well, there's this lady my mom knows. She owns an apartment building not too far from the café where you work," Cassie said, "Should I ask her?"
I quickly grabbed her hands and with tears said, "Thanks Cassie! You're such an awesome friend! I love you so muuuch~"
"Okay okay, now get off," she pushed me away as I tried to squeeze her in a hug.
I grinned. Although I do feel bad for lying and they'll find it out sooner or later, it's still good not to have them worry for now.
"You coming or not?"
Vivianne's voice made me look forward and I nodded catching up to them.
"Did you know the date I had at that party? He was such a cutie pie. Oh my god!" Cassie started her simping again. If I didn't know any better I'd think she had fallen in love again. But it's just for a few days and the ember will get cold once she realizes she 'hates' him because he is a 'loser', in her own words from her previous dates. "He even called me after the party to make sure I've reached home safe and sound."
