She sat near the counter and glanced down boringly at her empty glass with just ice cubes in it and they made a clattering sound as she shook it in her hands.

Sigh...I'm getting bored. She was just sitting there, alone with drooped eyelids because she had nothing to do anyways. If anyone looks at me right now, they'd think that I'm a god-level drunkard for sure.

After Max suddenly ran off like that without even telling her what spirit came over and possessed him, she had searched for her friends but they already had a date for the night so she thought that she would only be an unwanted burden on them if she snatches away this fun evening from them too. So she didn't call them.

They do so much for me already...

She looked over at her phone when a message popped up and her face brightened. "Yona?" She quickly typed hello. They had exchanged numbers before when they met for the second time. "Why are you not here at the party? Everyone's here," she asked her and Yona replied⎯

"I don't like that Richie bitch."

Haha quite straightforward, Sarah laughed.

"Why? Are you getting bored there without me?"

She added a grinning emoji at the end making Sarah laugh even more.

"No...it's not like that," she replied.

"Ah Sarah, can I talk to you later? My mom's calling me."

"Yeah, okay," she typed and put the phone back.

"Your glass is all empty. Would you like another round of beer?" She looked up at the sudden voice and found Ben standing near the counter.

She looked down at her glass and then back at him. "Oh no, thank you. I wasn't drinking beer." She laughed.

Not like I can, she thought in her mind glancing over at Vivianne dancing with a tall muscular man and swaying with the music, her hairs flying in the air; she was already half drunk. And Cassandra⎯ Sarah took a peek at her as Cassie covered her mouth to suppress a yawn⎯ she was already tired.

It's best if I don't drink for now, she thought.

"It's okay. I'll buy you another drink if you want," he offered, "So, which one?"

She shrugged, "Pink lemonade?"

He nodded and signalled the bartender.

"So. . . did Max tell you to keep an eye on me?" She asked him slowly all the while looking down at her empty glass.

"No, why would you think so?" He said almost instantly. "I actually thought that you were sitting here all by yourself so maybe I should keep you company?"

"Oh," she said very quietly and her eyes didn't leave the glass making him feel like she didn't trust his words properly.

He added, "Where are your friends? Wouldn't you like to go enjoy with them?"

She calmly shook her head and replied, "I'm fine, honestly."

"Well then," he said as he sat on the stool facing the crowd and leaned his back on the counter with his elbows as support, "I guess we both would have to stay together for now."

He put his hand around his mouth as if telling a secret and whispered (in not very low voice), "You know we gotta stay together for I've heard once two siblings got lost in a crowded place like this."

She looked at him with wide eyes.

He continued in a whisper as if to explain her, "I don't want us to become the long-lost siblings, y'know."
