Chapter 45

Derby's POV

Loving and hating,seeing and ignoring,dancing and drinking,The best time of my life,all around my love.

"Kevin,drive slow,dont take my love for granted" I instruct.

"I cant believe,this day has finally come,Its giving me goose bumps to think"

"I swear,I have never wanted our time to end here,we have spent a beautiful year together,in each others company,fighting people's wrath and disghusting glares,but ee have cared no less"

"Kev,I have always thought of you giving a farewell speech,and that would be like thanking plenty of people who had been supportive or unsupportive of us"

"I wish that too Derby,but I feel bad for being in so bad term with almost everyone,
"Do you think,its tge right time for me to atleast take a measure towards the correction although nothing can be undone"

"I think,we should both try apologising for it,a last trial since we wont ever say them anymore"

"Hey,Derby and Kev,welcome buddies,the party is on full swing"

"Did we miss anything?"

"Well,yeah,Just the memory rail video performance on journey of you seniors in the college"

"Seriously?" I bite my lip.

They start laughing.

"No babes,the party has just begun,welcome and by the way,you look good in that white dress,only that tgis masquerade will suit you best,one for each and that you wear"

"Thank you"I mumble,taking one for me, and we move in.

"Kevin,I cant believe that this college life which has given us so much of us is now getting over,no more of college,no more of fun,no parties like owls,and no more of bunking lectures,I feel sick to imagine all that"

"More than you,I somehow regret that our seclusion,has distanced us from everyone around,we failed to create memories with friends,we were too busy amoungst us to undo the things we messed up"

"Why do you say so?"

"Look,there,they all stand and cherish the time of their life togeather and we are no part of it."

"Ladies and gentleman,I welcome you all on behalf of WSU freshman,who are soon going to take your rooms away,so hurry sophomores and take your treat,lend us the rooms"

A voice from the stage booms up and everyone else starts laughing at the welcome,All our eyes glued at the stage and we stand all hamd in hand bidding thee farewell to WSU and our time here.

All in silence,waiting for the proceedings and never wishing the day to end.

As a custom,we walk to the stage in couples for a farewell dance,I see each one in a different attire,looking as charming as ever,prettiness all under one roof,sprawling glimmer,just with Masquerade's on.

We walk too,Tapping and dancing our feet to the royal tune and then for us is a theater perfomance prepared to revive the old memories called as the memory train,that the freshman guy who received us hinted about.

Just as we began seating,the curtain opens and characters come with the scene of us all in the freshers and going through a general process of every collegiate.

Then in the backdrop,suddenly started a video that displayed all of our pictures from college,from campus life to out campus and to Miami aswell.

Till the time ours was no more.

I had held kevins hand for long now,but due to the lightening effect,I can see no longer of his face and emotions.I know how he must feel right now.
He removes his hand,I can suspect tears in his eyes,he has each single day,regretted and repented his deeds.

I have felt how heavy the weight it has been on his heart.
But It ll soon be over,over because I no longer would see it,we wont get to live all under same roof and institution.

This day means a lot to all of us.

As the ceremonial celebration ends,Its time for the toast raising drinks and here we go.

Kevin leads me from the crowd of people to the group standing all together,yet in couples,our so called group.

To my utter unexpectation,everyone is merry and they no more treat like like unaquaintaces,but friends indeed.

Adiva,stands far behind,on seeing us,she waits for us to begin but she moves,Nancy held her hand so close stopping her.

Well,I deserve no more than to be able to stand here in all of your company and feel like a friend again.

For a thousand time,I am here to say sorry,I have regretted all an year,but realisation comes true.

Forgive me all and ease my burden,If you could.

"Goodwishes and luck all for you life,I have moved on" Nancy smiles and proudly holds Ivan's hand as to showoff.

Ivan nods smiling at him.

"Long forgiven and forgotten,let all be blessed,for new life ahead" Adriana states smiling genuinly.

"Realisation,is everything and that what you after is,needs every ounce of courage,eho better than me to realise that" Daniele blurts and everyone joins him laughing.
To that Adriana,swats his arm playfully.

I am missing the humor here,but ofcourse its long gap between us all to know the back story.

"Adiva,I done more wrong to you than none,I hope you someday try to forgive me"

"That day shall never come,Till my last breath,I shall only curse and never forgive,nor do you expect me to fake last day's going away emotions"

"I expect nothing of that sort,I coukd only apologise,never undo the done"

Suddenly an announcement,at the right time draws back our attention.

Well,o well no more sobbing here guys,Its farewell and lest we rock it now.

Now any farewell sobbing speech,anyone?

Adriana in her golden black mask is the first one the stage
She unmasquerade's it to speak

"It has been the most crucial learning period of my life,besides the book knowlege,I have leant some lessons of life that I wish to carry forward,forever.
"The Masquerade's hence pull off, unmasked each one"
Feels like a blink of an and as my eyes open,I will wake from this dream,I wish for the time to stay only it could.
Least wishing all my mates the best wishes for life and good fortune awaits fr each one of us.
A farewell to lazy life and a grand welcome to the professional calling.
Last of my word,Apologies for any wrong done and no hard feelings as I step out of here.

She descends the stage in her beautiful sprawling gown.

And as she does,each one us, Masquerade pulls off,knowing what it meant.
A thunder of claps sound roars in the hall.

The informal greetings exchange and we bid each other adieu,a final one.

Just one graduation ceremony left and thats to be held tomorrow and then the final pack up of the movie deztination and we part our ways.

I feel blessed to be with Kevin and more happier now that he is,as everything he wanted for today is as perfect as it should have been,If not for me,for Kevin it was.

I m happy as he is.That is Love for him,i presume.
